EasyRaid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.6
by: Soin [More]

The standard Blizzard Raid UI is quite pretty but not really convenient. Each time you start a raid, you have to drag and drop the groups and classes you want to display. EasyRaid solves this issue, your favorite set of groups and classes is automatically displayed (with the Blizzard Raid UI) as soon as you join a raid. In addition, EasyRaid enhances many aspects of the raid display: auto-ordering and positioning, buffs/debuffs, scaling, attacked player highlighting and a lot more.

EasyRaid is also the perfect companion for CT_RaidAssist or oRA2 (a CT_RA alternative). It fetches Main Tanks from CT_RA or oRA2, displays them in a wonderful way and reinvents Targets viewing. Give it a try to understand what I mean.

Features

  • Automatically display a complete set of groups and classes.
  • Main Tanks and Targets powerful display and management.
  • Main Tanks management is really simple, just drag and drop them!
  • Option to automatically set Main Tanks targets icons.
  • Option to highlight attacked players (better than target's target).
  • Range check feature.
  • In range dispellable debuff are flashing.
  • Aggro alert feature.
  • Pulsing effect on raid members who are being ressed.
  • Contextual menu on raid members with the all standard features.
  • CT_RaidAssist and oRA2 support.
  • Blizzard look and feel!
Changelog

Version 2.6 (May 24, 2007)
  • Most bugs occurred with the 2.1 patch should be fixed.
  • .toc updated to WoW 2.1 (20100).
Version 2.5.3 (January 10, 2007)
  • .toc updated to WoW 2.0.3 (20003).
Version 2.5.2 (January 9, 2007)
  • New pulsing effect on raid members who are being ressed.
  • Raid Info issue fixed.
Version 2.5.1 (January 6, 2007)
  • Bug fix: nil error if you use EasyRaid without oRA2 or CT_RA.
Version 2.5 (January 6, 2007)
  • Following the WoW 2.0 patch, I had to rewrite more than 75% of the EasyRaid code in order to conform to the new locked UnitFrames in combat mode. I also made a large cleaning and I restructured the whole for an integration of Ace2 soon!
  • Now the buffs and debuffs are simultaneously displayed. The buffs of long duration are masked in combat mode in order to free space for the short buffs like Renew, Shield, etc. The debuffs are displayed permanently and those which you can dissipate are highlighted with a flashing border if you are in range.
  • Addition of Shamans for the Alliance and Paladins for the Horde.
  • All known bugs were fixed.
  • Improved look and feel.

Thanks Dafire for your suggestion. It is something that I wanted to do, the idea was to add a number (or why not a letter) in case targets have the same name. I'm not going to color the background or add a little circle, a simple number (or letter) in brackets at right of targets name would be perfect.

Hey !

Today I noticed a feature in EasyRaid I missed but wasn't aware of that it's there

In the MainTank-Targets window I see if someone else has the same target like me, guess I didn't notice the highlight since it's really just a little grey.

What I did now is changing the color to something better visible

Really great would be a Raidleader Mode, so you can easy see if mt's have the same targets... two possibilities came to my mind.

1. different backround colors for the pairs .. like if you open the targetmanager from ct_raidassist.

2. like you did in EasyTargets add a little circle to the same targets with a letter in it .. so you have something like
[tank1] [target1](a)
[tank2] [target2]
[tank3] [target1](a)
[tank4] [target4](b)
[tank5] [target4](b)
[tank6] [target1](a)
so since tank1, tank3 and tank6 have the same target there is the (a) sign on both and tank4 and tank5 also have the same target so they get a (b)

I guess the concept that you like more in EasyRaid is simplicity. I think twice before adding any option, I don't want to end up like CT_RA! Furthermore, It's not easy to save space in the Blizzard frames, don't forget the buffs/debuffs display... Anyway, I'll think about that. Thanks grtar!

I really like this mod.

I wonder if there might be options for customising the look of the raid frames? At the moment, I use CTRA's options to make the frames a lot smaller, so they fit within a certain amount of space. There's a lot of dead space in the Blizzard frames.

Now there is an option to automatically switch to debuff mode when you enter in combat. I don't like the idea to mix buff and debuff on the same display, too many informations kill informations. CT_RA solves the problem by putting colors to represent debuff categories. I don't like this approach because we don't know what debuff we have exactly. I feel like a robot clicking all these colored boxes.

Question

Please Feu, i didn't try your addon since its initial release.
I didn't keep it because i had to chose between showing buffs OR showing debuffs.
I really like the option of CT_RA to show buffs until someone is debuffed ...

Is it implemented in EasyRaid now, or do you think you could code it ???

thanx,
Btw your addon is really nice, just wiating for your answer to use it

EasRaid has no mandatory dependency, it works by itself.

The auto-positionning feature is the essence of EasyRaid, groups must consequently move up and down.

When someone leaves the raid my raidgroups move up and down

so requesting a "sticky groups" which makes them unmovable.
