I wish you would update this one. I love it, It's small and simple and i never found a better one. But it's so sad to load the old ace1 to have it run. please update it
It's not 100% the same though. I think I removed PeriodicTable support because it made the addon bulky and I don't think anyone was using it... besides that, Engravings was meant to complement Mendeleev... where Mendy dealt with PT stuff Engravings was meant to deal with the things PT couldn't.
I know and share the minimalistic approach to configs (ie no config at all).
However engravings needs a way (even if it means editing some lua) to disable "default engravings".
itemid, itemlevel, stacksize, drop location info... there should be a way to disable them from the tooltip.
There's a host of addons that provide this info on tooltips.
(RatingBuster, LootLink, Mendeleev, InventoryOnPar just to name a few I currently use for different features they offer)
All / most of them provide options to disable showing of item info on the tooltip so you can still get a tooltip without duplicate info.
Engravings major selling point is the ability to embed custom notes (engrave) info to item tooltips,
which is not offered by anything else.
No way to disable the "default" additions in total or in part though just means I have to choose between it and my other addons which I'd rather not.
Thanks for the addon goes without saying
Edit: oh erm... this just occured to me.
Is it possible to "toggle" those additions off just by
commenting out the relevant Data\xxxx.lua files from the .toc?
Edit2: answering my own question.
It's indeed enough to comment out the modules you're not interested in from the .toc.
So all is well.
I was a bit afraid this would come with a huge memory overhead, but I'm really impressed by the compactness of both the data tables and the code. Are the tables generated automatically? And from what source? The tough part of an addon like this is keeping it up-to-date.
A config to toggle the various data 'modules' on or off would make this complete, looking forward to it. Perhaps also a (lvl 70) quest reward module, though that would probably be quite large.
Yes, a ruby script mines the data from wowhead. Initially I borrow LootDB's data, but quickly found it was incomplete. Options are coming eventually, and I've considered a module for blue quest rewards, just a matter of writing a miner for em.
Hey, I keep checking especially this mod for updates, any new things in the making, GUI, quest rewards? I think some PvP prices are still incorrect/missing. Just wondering, cheers
