Clique is a simple addon that enables powerful click-casting and hover-casting on your unit frames and in the 3D game world. You can bind virtually any mouse or keyboard combination to a spell or macro. In it's normal configuration this enables you to use the bindings over your unit frames in order to cast spells directly on that unit. This allows you to more quickly select both the spell to cast, and the target of the spell without requiring an extra click.
To begin with Clique, open your spellbook and click on the new tab that is shown there. You can also open the configuration GUI by running the /clique slash command. From this binding interface you can add, remove and alter any of your Clique bindings. You will be unable to make these changes when you are in combat due to limitations in the Blizzard API.
Binding a spell
Binding a spell is just a matter of finding the spell in your spellbook, putting your mouse over it, and performing the binding you would like to add. For example, if you'd like to set 'Regrowth' to activate on 'Shift-LeftButton', then you just find that spell in your spellbook and then Shift-LeftClick on it. You can also bind keyboard combinations, so you could do the same with Shift-R if you'd like.
Keep in mind when you are setting your bindings that they will override any bindings that are already set on the frame, for example the default bindings to 'Target unit' and 'Show unit menu'. You can override these bindings if you would like, but you should then set a new different combination that will activate the original functions
Binding the 'Target unit' or 'Show unit menu' actions
If you've rebound or lose these default bindings, you can re-bind them using the 'Bind other' button in the Clique configuration. Click on the button, and choose the correct action and you will be presented with a dialog box that allows you to set the binding for that action. Simply choose a new key combination, and you will be able to target units and open your menu again.
Binding a macro
Binding a macro can also be found on the 'Bind other' button. You'll be given a new window with instructions and suggestions about writing your macros, but other than that the process should seem very similar.
Managing click-sets
Each binding can belong to a number of binding-sets. These sets determine when the binding is active. The built-in binding-sets are as follows:

Hi there,
I'm not sure if this is a common problem or not but I wasn't able to find any info after searching the web so figured I'd post here. My partner has been a loyal Clique enthusiast and lives and dies by the addon. Today she transferred to Horde from Alliance, and also transferred servers/realms, and found that Clique wasn't working properly. More specifically, Clique displays the old saved profile she had prior to transferring, but none of the keybind configurations populate. She tried copying the LUA file in the WTF folder but it did not seem to resolve the issue. She is dreading going in and recreating all of the configurations w/ Clique. Any idea what could be the issue here? I've been brainstorming solo for a while now but haven't been able to figure it out. Any insight with be super duper appreciated ![]() Thanks so much, V |

Hey everyone, I have some great news! In the PTR, Blizzard has enabled support for native Click Casting within the default user interface. I wanted to take a minute to talk a bit about the details and how that will interact with Clique.
The new user interface can be found under the "Combat" menu under the "Interface" options. Once you open that you'll be able to drag and drop certain spells (those that require a target) and macros to the user interface and bind them to clicks (and modified) clicks, very similar to how you've always done it in Clique. Some key notes: 1. Blizzard has added a "Mouseover Frame Cast" option, which lets you set a global modifier. After that, when you mouse over a unit frame and use that modifier (such as ALT) you'll cast the spell on the mouseover unit instead of on your target. This will help lots of people who use mouseover macros now to not need to create those manually. 2. Click bindings should work for any unit frames that use the SecureUnitButton template, so all of the default unit frames and almost any addon should work directly without any additional work. This is great! 3. Clique and the built-in Click Casting work fine together. You can use key bound spells, click-cast spells and it'll work exactly as you've seen it work in the past. That means you can mix and match if you want to! 4. Any binding set in the default user interface will take PRIORITY over any set in Clique. This is by design and should make it easy to understand how it all fits together. 5. The default click casting interface supports per-spec profiles, so you'll need to set things up for each of your specs. This does not appear to be an option that can be changed, so you can't do "common" bindings at the moment, it seems. 6. You cannot unbind the Target unit frame or Open Context Menu actions. In fact, even if you change these bindings to be something other that default (i.e. Alt-right-click for open menu), the default unit frames will still open the menu on right-click. I'm super excited to see this come to all users and look forward to seeing what more they're able to do with it. Happy for any feedback or issues you see from PTR!

I agree its confusing, but I think it would be more confusing if Clique started making changes to other addons, and I don't think that's the direction to go.

Clique r143 Wotlk 3.3.5a // OnClick
Cladhaire,
I hope you are well during these crazy times and thank you for all of your work on this addon. I have used it in many different versions of WoW (Retail, Classic, TBC, Wrath, etc..) and as a healer, I find it a must! I could not find a Github repository to post this issue so I apologize if this is not the right place. I am using Clique r143 for WoW WOTLK v3.3.5a. There is a release note from you that states:
Looking through the LUA I found a few lines referencing AnyDown and SetClickType. I am no versed in LUA my apologies. I am just trying to hardcode On Click or AnyDown so that setting is always down. Code:
function Clique:SetClickType(frame) local clickType = Clique.db.char.downClick and "AnyDown" or "AnyUp" if frame then frame:RegisterForClicks(clickType) else for frame, enabled in pairs(self.ccframes) do if enabled then frame:RegisterForClicks(clickType) end end end end Thank you for your time ![]() |

I've been trying to remove the default show unit menu from right click yet it still works even though the binding is removed. I've tried binding it to something else yet it still works through right click, the only way i have been able to disable it is to either run a custom macro with nothing or bind a spell. I'm using default raid frames and clique. Is there a way that I don't seem to know to completely remove the binding for Show Unit Menu or to move it and have it not still be usable by only right click? |

Re: Re: Clique Action on Key Press Option
After further investigation - this does appear to be specific to ElvUI. The issue does not occur with other UnitFrames such as Grid2. I believe this would be a simple fix, it would just require Clique options to be re-affirmed on reload/login. |

Re: Clique Action on Key Press Option
I've checked the Clique.lua in SavedVariables and it does retain the 'true' option for this setting. Going in and out of the Options menu of Clique seems to be the only way to resolve this on login/reload. Edit: Doesn't seem to be impacted by UnitFrames, Blizzard or ElvUI.

Clique Action on Key Press Option
The option "Trigger bindings on the 'down' portion of the click (experimental)" stops working after relogging or reloading UI. The issue does resolve when I open the clique general options, but that's really inconvenient since I'd have to do that each time I relog or reload UI.
- v3.1.1 - Using ElvUI - All bindings work; it's just activating them on "key down" doesn't work after logging on or reloading UI until I open the general options for clique |

Clique working on main, not on alt
I'm missing something obvious. Clique works fine on my main (Burning Crusade Classic). I started up my lvl 60 alt today (not played since before pre-patch) and can't get Clique to do anything (used Clique on this char all through Classic).
I have a few bindings set the normal way and none of the clicks do anything, I get the default Blizz response (target on left click and unit menu on right) but nothing at all that's bound (whether it's a macro or a direct click from the spellbook). I removed all addons except Clique to try with the Blizz frames instead of my normal frames (SUF) - same result. Settings for Clique look the same on both alt and main. I feel I'm missing something very simple  Can anyone help? |

Classic Clique + Blizzard Raid Frames Fix incompatibility
I am using this wonderful addon for mouseover healing in Classic TBC. I am trying to use the default raid frames, however, there is a long standing issue that the frames break if someone joins/leaves the raid while in combat. The frames end up completely broken until a /reload. Thankfully, the Blizzard Raid Frames Fix addon solves this issue: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addon...draidframesfix
However, whenever I am running that addon, the mouseovers set by clique no longer work. Interestingly, if I rebind some buttons in Clique, they suddenly start working, but break again upon a /reload or someone entering/leaving a raid while in combat. Just to clarify: The frames themselves work perfectly, so the Blizzard Raid Frames Fix addon is definitely helping. However, the mouseover by clique seem to break. I am not sure if this is a bug on Clique's side, Blizzard Raid Frames Fix' side or simply an incompatibility. I have reported the issue here and on the issue tracker for said addon. Would appreciate it if I was able to use both addons at the same time ![]() |
