You can do that via the |t escape sequence. http://www.wowwiki.com/UI_Escape_Sequences Mikari/Deep92: Yes. I plan to make it only apply to more than one. I plan to add "stack" events for buffs and debuffs that only apply to 2 or more applications and can be individually customized. I just ran out of time for this patch and wanted to get the update out. |

Thanks for adding aura stacks, I don't suppose it's possible for it to only show the stacks if there are more than 1? Otherwise it shows all buffs as having 1 stack even if the buff isn't a stackable one.

Thank you for your excellent addon
Do you have any plans to add support for arbitrary numbers of textures in MSBT messages? The reason I'm asking is because I wrote a raid warning to MSBT re-router and raid warnings can have any number of textures at any position in the message body. |

D'oh! I usually check for readme files. I don't know what has gotten into me this time. It's all there and it's perfectly documented. The %r substitution code works like a charm. Thanks for pointing it out ;-)

If you take a look at the included readme.html, there is a trigger guide and trigger reference. The first section in the reference contains which event codes are available. %r is what you want. |

Greetings,
I've just recently discovered MikScrollingBattleText and it gets the job done very smoothly. I like customizing every nook and cranny of the add-on. For my priest twink, I like it to notify me of fading buffs on party members and myself. I was wondering if I could create a trigger that not only says, "Someone in the party has lost Power Word: Fortitude" but that goes futher and names the party member. Like for example, "Bob has lost [...]." Right now I can create a trigger for the event Aura Removal and set its condition to Recipient Unit Affiliation is equal to party member. Whenever someone in my party loses the buff in question, the trigger fires. However, I don't know who has lost the buff, I need to check the party members first. Is there a variable I can use so the notification names the party member? Maybe something similar to the %a and %e variables some of the other triggers use? If there isn't, could this be implemented? And if this is already possible, how do I tweak my trigger to use this feature? Greetings, Contiki |

Mikari:
It really all has to do with how often the updates are fired by the game which mods have no control over. The position is calculated based on elapsed time so it's not tied to the framerate. If there is a long delay between an update call, it will appear to jump a couple of pixels. That's probably what you see from time to time. Incidentally, this is the same approach both the default FCT and the new 3.1 animation system use. The same thing happens there. I have been playing with the game's new animation system, but it's still limited. The most recent build added support for creating specific affine animation objects and that was a big step in the right direction. Unfortunately, being affine in nature, the only translations available are straight lines and there isn't a mechanism to specify custom offsets for curvilinear transformations. In short, the new system is improving, but I don't think it's quite ready yet. |

I'm wondering if this is a bug or not, sometimes I notice the animation of the scrolling text isn't smooth it almost judders, but other times it's perfectly smooth, this occurs even when framerate is high.
Speaking of animation, is the new animation system in 3.1 in a good enough state that you'll be switching over to it? |

That error looks like one of your events has selected a font that has an invalid path specified which would indicate that you've added a custom font (or you've downloaded MSBT from somewhere else than here that is an improperly modified version). I'd suggest resetting your profile to see if that fixes your issue, and if that doesn't work, download the latest version from this site.

Mikari:
I'll look into it. I think it should be fairly easy to implement. Rayvenn: Thanks for the update. For you question, just add an Amount condition to the Aura Application event and set it equal to the number of stacks you want to trigger on. Newdles: I've already answered this one over in the feature requests, but there will be one in the next version. ezrast: That is not one of the pieces of information reported by the combat log for aura applications. A debuff type condition is an interesting idea though. xuwhy: Deep92 covered it for you. I am pretty sure you'll find your combat log stops reporting. MSBT relies on the combat log, so if it stops reporting, so does MSBT. If you find that isn't the case, enable the "Display Lua Errors" option in your interface options and see if there are any errors being thrown. |
