I'll admit that I havent searched very well. But is there a way to show finished cooldowns of trinkets? Just like the finished cooldowns of spells are shown.

Outgoing damage on nameplates?
Is it possible to display outgoing damage on nameplates, similar to the default damage text location?

I haven't done any modifications to the mail system, so I can't really say for sure, but one event you might want to look at is UPDATE_PENDING_MAIL. From what I understand it fires when a new message is received, but it also fires under other circumstances such as leaving and entering an instance. You can probably filter out those extraneous circumstances though. I've also seen it reported that it doesn't always fire on every type of message (like one from the AH) and for that I don't know of a workaround (or if it is even possible to workaround). Redspider: MSBT doesn't have one by default, but you can always add it yourself via the trigger system. I would think something like the following should do the trick: Aura Application Recipient Unit Affiliation - Is Equal To - Target Skill Name - Is Like - .+ Poison Amount - Is Equal To - 5 r1pt1de: MSBT automatically chooses the locale based on the game's locale (naturally only if MSBT has that particular locale available). You can't arbitrarily change it because there are too many pieces that rely on the game's locale such as specific spell names for triggers. neotron: The quickest way to handle that is to add a Trigger Recently Fired exception of a few seconds to the Rune Strike trigger. That way it will only fire once within the specified time frame regardless of how many times it is encountered. I will update the next build with that change. |

Using the most recent version I've noticed that I get a message every time Rune Strike is available. This happens even if Rune Strike was already available which makes it very spammy when AoE tanking - often Rune Strike will trigger multiple times per seconds.
Any way to only display a message when Rune Strike moves from inactive to active instead? |

Quick question: Is there a built in Envenom alert, triggered when a rogue has 5 doses on a target? (SCT has this, I think. But if MSBT has it as well, I might give it a whirl.)

Although this has nothing to do w/ Combat Text, I've been designing my UI around MikScrollingBattleText as a universal "Notification" system, rather than just for combat text, and so far I'm enjoying it a lot.
I know you've written an API to allow other addons to pass messages through to Miks, and I've tried to do something on my own, but I'm just not skilled enough in coding to figure it out. I'm just trying to send a notification to MSBT when I receive a new mail message. Is this possible and if so how? The reason is I'm using postal for my mail needs and there is a current bug within Blizzards code from what I can understand that will not update the minimap button to indicate that you've read any mail - Therefor, the icon always shows up. I've wasted a lot of time running to the mail box only to find no mail. It's not a problem w/ just Postal, but all mail box addons that open the messages automatically. So that's why I'd like a notification (through MSBT) that I've received a new mail so I know for sure that there is something there. Thanks |

I've thought about introducing a delay for that purpose, but how long the delay would have to be depends on latency which can be anything from 50ms to a full second or more depending on the connection. I wouldn't want to delay a trigger that long since it would be counter to their intended purpose of a being a real time NOW! type of indication and even then wouldn't be guaranteed to work if the latency was larger than the arbitrarily chosen delay. It's not really practical. The idea of checking the HP value might be a somewhat viable substitute, but I'll have to test the order of events since it's possible the HP isn't updated yet either. I've noticed that units die at 1 HP though, so it's a possibility depending on when that value actually gets set. Maybe an "almost dead" exception

I actually thought there might be a issue like that, or something lag related. I guess only way to make it work would be make "artificial lag" or some sort timer between the triggered event and the check for exception, but that would be somewhat unpractical and not worth the trouble I suppose. How about the hp exception ? Or is there some problem that when target dies it's hp is something else than numerical value (don't remember ever seeing someone's hp like "0/maxhp"....)?
