X-Perl UnitFrames  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.6.35
by: MysticalOS, Zeksie

A much enchanced version of Nymbia's Perl UnitFrames, and a complete replacement for Blizzard's default unit frames, including raid frames and raid tools, with many additions and improvements over the original Nymbia code.

Range Finder (combined with optional health check) for all frames based on spell or item range test.

HoT Monitor will highlight units clearly that have your own active Heal over Time spells.

Debuff Highlights in standard debuff colours on all friendly frames. Priority given to show debuffs that YOU can cure first.

Raid Frames, buff icons, MT list units and some other portions or X-Perl are Created on demand. Saving a lot of time and memory at system startup. Defering the creation of many parts of X-Perl to when they are actually required. And of course, most often outside of raids they are never required and are never created.

Raid Target icon support for Target, Target's Target, MT Targets.

Raid tooltip will show combat rezzers available (druids with Rebirth ready (or very soon available) and any normal rezzers out of combat) if you bring up tooltip of a dead person.

'In-combat' indicators for Pet, Target, Target's Target, Party, Party pets, Raid, MT Targets.

3D Portraits for player, pet, target, focus, party. Optional. Of course this may degrade your framerate somewhat because you are displaying more 3D character models that without this option. But some like it pretty, and it does look cool.

Red and Green combat flashes for frames when player, pet, target, party, partypets, raid take damage/heals. Useful indication of things happening.

Added time left on party member/target buffs/debuffs when in a raid, these depend somewhat on CTRA/oRA/oRA2 sending appropriate information over the addon channel, although some of it can be determined at run time by X-Perl, when a player gets a buff for example, we know how long it should last, and therefor when it should expire.

Totally new options window including all X-Perl options and access via minimap icon.

Configurable colours for borders and backgrounds. Including class coloured names, and configurable reaction colours.

Much care has been taken with code size, memory load, memory usage per cycle and so on. LuaProfiler/OnEvent mods used extensively and regularly to ensure that X-Perl does not do more work than is absolutely necessary.

With that in mind, the event system was totally re-written, and is as kind to system performance as possible. The majority of events are disabled while zoning to alleviate any event backlog issues. And where most addons use 1 event handler per unit frame, which although standard, the alternative has improved X-Perl's performance. By using single main event handlers, we can route the events to appropriate units. So, for example, when a single UNIT_HEALTH update is fired, then just a single raid frame or party frame etc. gets the event, rather than 40 raid frame's handlers, 4 party and so on. Nymbia's Perl used to do a lot of crazy full frame udpates all over the place, eating away at CPU cycles. This was all fixed to only update what was necessary based on events.

Liberal usage of local functions to cut down compiled code size, and increase speed since functions are called directly rather than by name. Every time you have a global function, you have a global string name associated with it, so size in the global environment saved where possible.

XPerl_RaidHelper sub-addon
Assists View
Will show anyone from raid assising you with your target, and can also show healers or all plus known enemies targetting you.
Tooltips for the same also available (on player and target frames) if you prefer to not use the main window.

MT Targets
Replaces CTRA/oRA2 MT Targets window, and doubles as a replacement for the Perl RaidFrames warrior targets.
Indicator shows which target you are on.
Frames will be coloured to show if tanks have duplicate targets.

XPerl_RaidMonitor sub-addon (WORK IN PROGRESS)
Casting Monitor
Shows selected classes (defaults to healer classes) in a list (much like the MT List), but with some differences.
Shows mana bars and cast bars on left. Their targets on right. Health bar as normal, but a secondary small red bar on targets which shows the maximum single hit this unit has received since entering combat. The secondary bar will extend downwards from their current HP level down to as far as zero.
A green name on the targets indicates this is the same target that you have.
You can click on casters or their targets as expected.
For druids, right clicking on a caster will cast Innervate on them.
For shamans, right clicking on a caster will cast Mana Tide Totem. Check the * indicator to see if they're in your group.

All bars can be re-sized in X-Perl main options (Monitor section).

Totals can be toggled (from the 'T' minibutton at top of frame) which gives overview of raid mana status.

XPerl_RaidAdmin sub-addon (WORK IN PROGRESS)
Raid Admin
Save/Load raid roster setups
Only does direct save and load for the moment, but more to come (templates and such).

Item Check
Replacement for /raitem /radur /raresist /rareg. Use the old commands before, or drop items in the left item list.
Query button will perform /raitem on all ticked items (query always includes dur and resists) and you can then view and review all the results whenever, without having to re-query each item.
Includes everyone in raid, so you don't have to work out who doesn't have items, it'll list them with 0 instead of no entry.
Active Scanner to check raid member's equipment for the item selected. So you can be sure that people actually have the item worn (Onyxia Cloak for example), without having to go round single target inspecting everyone who 'forgot' to install CTRA for the 50th raid in a row.

Supported Addons
CT_RaidAssist, oRA2. Shows tooltip info and player status, replaces MT Targets List, improves raid frames, shows player status, resurrection monitor, buff timers aware.
MobInfo-2 / MobHealth3 - Shows target health from MobHealth database.
DruidBar - Shows druid mana bar from DruidBar when shapeshifted.
Clique compatible. And any other click cast addon that uses the same communication method. (see below)

Changes:
*Updated for 5.x
*Should use signifcently less cpu then it did before

I have looked and looked and wasn't able to find how if its possible so i figured i would ask here, is there a way for the player and target to make it so it dosen't show how many healers are targeting me and how many people are targeting my target? I have no real use for that information and it just out of place and annoying in my UI setup. thx

pet happyness

The pet happyness would be nice to have on the right side of the frame instead of the left. Or in my case, replacing the portrait. I tend to like a minimalistik UI and I can't put the pet frame to the far left now as that makes the pet happyness icon disappear outside the screen.
There seem to also be a small issue with frames moving to a different Y coordinate whenever I ry to copy one user profile to another character.

It would be nice to see an update on this one soon. We are 2 patches since the last update on X-Perl (3.0.9) and soon there will be the 3.1 with significant changes if I understood what little info I have found about that upcoming patch.

Another minor bug is that I can not move focus frame without actually having a focus, it does not show up as a blinking 'sample' frame like the others do when you mouse-over them in the options, the same happens to party pet and targets. I can only adjust the positions of those while actually having a party. Not so good when the party is waiting for us to begin the instance or whatever and I am sitting there piddling with the frame positions.

The Raid Group number gets hidden behind the PvP symbol (Wintergrasp or Battleground) when it is set to show in name plate rather then portrait. I do not use portraits and I don't want anything above or to the left of the frame so if we could have that raid group number centered or on the right hand side of name plate, that would be great. Or in the Healthbar even.

As a healer, I love the healer range check that allows me to have frames semi-transparent if they are out of range. Unfortunately, the rangefinder for target of other classes, such as my hunter, does not work well at all. The hand on the frame is located on top of target name plate, wich makes it nearly invisible for me having that frame at the very top of the screen. Furthermore, my hunter who needs that range check, also has extended range because of survival spec, but I have no way to change the rangefinder to show that. It still only shows me range 30, not 40 for hunter (Sniper Training and extended range). I would very much like to see the hostile target range finder work exactly like the Healer Mode. You put whatever ability (such as Explosive Shot for the survival hunter) in the spell to use as range indicator, then have the entire target frame go transparent until within range, just like Healer Mode does for party/raid members and the spell of your choice.

The Perfect Range Finder would show the exact range in a 2 digit number and I would gladly have that number show instead of a portrait for example.
Why? Because again, in raids, where positioning yourself exactly becomes a critical thing, no matter if I play my healer or hunter, there are many bosses in Northrend instances where I would like to have the exact range between me and my target clearly visible and I have not found any addon out there that does this. The closest one is called "Trange" but it is badly outdated now and it still glitches. It only shows no better accuracy then 6 meters wich barely lets me know when my Sniper Training kicks in and for the healer it doesn't work well at all since it confuses the offensive spells like Root with the healing spells that I have longer range on.

Thanks much for an awsome addon but I really think it's time for an update or I will regrettably have to find another unitframe addon as I will be doing raids with my hunter also soon and that range check will be crucial.

Big Buffs

Would it be possible to make this option also available for the player frame? I really enjoy this option when I'm healing party or when I'm feral and keeping track of my dots on opponents, however I cannot keep track of my savage roar on myself.

Healtbar beside my caracter.

I have been using X-Perl for along time but at some point when i updated to the newest verion i suddenly got a healtbar beside my caracter to the left side and when i target a mob i get the mobs healthbar beside my caracter to the right side. Its the only thing i find anoying. I cant move it to another place when im in the setting and it takes up alot of space on the screen.

I have seen addons that can do the same before but i have never used them. But some of my guildies use something like it but none of them has seen it in x-perl before.

Does anyone know how i can remove the healthbar? I have tried everything in the settings and i still cant find out were to remove the thing.

I just wanted to say first: This is awesome. Can't live without it now.

I was just wondering, however, if it would be possible to ever add an option to show the Percentage of health/mana... inside the bar, instead of making the bar larger and placing the percentage next to it?

This is the only annoyance I have. With the percentage, I find it becomes very unnatural to rapidly see your or anyone's actual health/mana. I need the edges of the frame to end where the health bar end, for example. However, I love the percentage.

No harm in asking, since I would love that feature. Also an option to change the color of the Death Knight's runic power is something I'd want, but its a very small thing.

EDIT: Instead of just inside, if it was possible to SWITCH the side of the %, it would be equally as awesome.

the HUD that you saw was added accidentally because Zeksie rushed a update to squash a error (i think) the X-Perl HUD may come back but not until Zeksie is happy with it but dont hold your breath ok.

Totem Timer Problem

I have the X-perl version of the Blizz Totem timers enabled under my player frame however whenever I log into my shaman they seem to default themselves to being turned off.

I have to go into x-perl options, disable the timers and re-enable the timers each time for them to appear.

Ok I thought I'd go into my problems here a bit more. I talked with a friend using x-perl and she doesn't seem to have a problem making the bar texture selector work but I do. I thought it was probably everyone but I guess it's not, I already tried deleting WTF and the cache and doing a fresh install, this did not fix it.

Whenever I click the bar texture selector button in the Global tab of Options I get the texture list (showing all the default texture in every slot) and the following error comes up:

[string, " *:OnShow" ]:5: bad argument #1 to 'pairs' (table expected, got nil)

Any hope here?

Changing target frame borders

Can anyone tell me where the border graphic for the target and targettarget frames are loaded?
Finding and changing the playerframe border graphic was easy, but no luck so far on the rest...

Frost Blast (KT - Naxx)

Hi,

I was wondering if there is anyway to make this debuff, the frost blast effect from KT, light up as a debuff?

The correct Frost Blast is not an option under "custom highlights."

I currently use DBM and X-perl, no debuff shows up on my raid party - even if they're ice blocked (frost blast)

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
