Grid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 8.0.1.1
by: Phanx [More]

Grid has been continued as Plexus by Doadin. Use that instead; Grid has not been updated since 2018 and will not be updated in the future.

Grid is a compact and highly configurable party/raid unit frame addon.
The compact grid of unit frames lets you select a group member quickly, while keeping a good overview of the whole group. It shows as much information as possible without overloading you. It allows you to customize what information you see, and how you see it. It works in both party and raid groups, and supports pets and vehicles.

Want more features? The Grid core tries to include only features which are generally useful for all classes and roles, but makes it easy to add new features with a simple plugin API for developers. Over 75 third-party plugins are already available!

Type “/grid” for options, or right-click the minimap button, DataBroker launcher, or Grid frame tab.

Language Support
Grid is compatible with all World of Warcraft localizations. It is currently translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文.

To add or update translations for any language, enter them on the WowAce project page. New and updated translations will be automatically included in the next version of Grid!

HINT: The WowAce interface for adding translations is quite cumbersome. To make the process easier, you can use the Export function on WowAce, copy the exported data into your text editor, fill in your translations, and then paste them back into WowAce using the Import function.
Credits
Grid was originally conceived and written by Maia and Pastamancer in late 2006. Phanx has been the primary developer since late 2009. Jerry wrote the original pet support code. Mikk designed the icon. jlam added some advanced options for auras. Greltok has helped a lot with bugfixing. Finally, lots of people have contributed translations!

No. Grid has never, and most likely will never, include any options to hide or otherwise modify any parts of the default UI.

For some reason I can't hover my cursor over the bottom players in each group / heal them properly, unless i hover at the very top of the box, lowering the frame height to 30 seems to have fixed it however maybe this is something you could look into?
It sounds like you have some other addon creating an invisible frame that's overlapping the bottom of your Grid layout. Type "/framestack" and then move the cursor over the area you're unable to click on. You'll see a tooltip-style window listing all of the frames underneath the cursor. If you see a frame name that you obviously recognize as belonging to another addon, either use that addon's options to move/delete that frame, or disable that addon. If you don't recognize anything, post the list of frames here.

Edit: Type "/framestack" again to turn off the frame list tooltip.

I don't have any plans to add border textures to individual unit frames in Grid. Third-party addons like the one you linked work just fine.

Hello phanx, can't register at wowace and post ticket. First of all i'm playing as Paladin, and i have spell - beacon of light, which Blizzard nefed in 4.0.1. now it's only heal the Beacon for 50% of the amount healed.

So Grid doen't show correctly heals on beacon target (it's only shows heal from holy light and it's 100% amount), so i beg you fix it, i want see my heals (with -50%) from divine light, flash of light and normaly from holy light.

Ah that worked, turns out the problem was empty bartender bars ;$
Turned them off now and everything's working perfectly, thanks for the quick reply bro!

Quick Question

Thank you for this wonderful mod! Hey, I'm just getting back into WoW, and the last time I used grid, there was a slash command to toggle showing and hiding the grid frame, so I could switch them off when not using them. Slash commands don't seem to work anymore, I can't seem to find the option to hide the grid frame in the configuration menu. Other than that, it seems to work great

You're probably thinking of "/grid standby" which was a feature provided by the Ace2 framework. There isn't an equivalent feature built into Ace3. Currently the recommended methods for hiding/disabling Grid are to set the layout for your current group type to "None", or to simply disable Grid at the addons screen.

Does grid still show or have an option to show my party then by class?

The new grid seems to have a class setting but lumps them all together. My classic grid had each class on a separate line so I had 11 lines. The 1st line was my party then 1 for each of the 10 classes.

Thank you - I miss my classic look of grid

Is that why I wouldn't let my hubby upgrade it?

What about my other question - of seeing my party or who's in my group while I am raiding?

BTW ty for the quick response

It works perfectly except for one thing: my corners indicators doesn't work. Whatever I want to see, buff, aggro, debuff... it simply doesn't work.
What should I do ?

That feature isn't, and hasn't ever been, part of the Grid core. If in the past you've had an option to duplicate your group, it was provided by a plugin. There are several layout-related plugins available, including one that restores the old by-class layouts for people who (for reasons I can't understand) want 11 columns/rows of 2-3 frames each on their screen. I don't have a link offhand; scroll through previous comments to find it.

1. Try resetting your Grid profile, or switching to a new one with default settings.

2. If that doesn't resolve the issue, read the addon description under "How to report a bug in Grid".

Do you ever intend to add a configuration mode option? One that would fill in your grid spots as if you were in a raid because it can sometimes be a pain to get a raid group to configure your grid.
