ArkInventory (AI or ARKINV) is an inventory mod that was based off EngInventory when the BtS 2.0.0 patch came out and I needed a working replacement.

AI's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".

AI uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.


You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.


Overview:

* unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
* assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
* assign categories to the bar of your choice
* configurable bars per row
* configurable width
* display bank, bag, keyrings for current and alts across all realms
* separate keybindings for bag, keyring and bank viewing


Key Bindings:

Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use

  • changed - added some more safety checks around the action code
  • added - config > actions > scrap (requires the scrap action to be applied to category). will only fill up the slots until you run out of items to scrap, you have to click on the scrap button as that is protected

  • removed - (cataclysm) keyring location
  • removed - config > actions > vendor > delete
  • added - config > actions > delete (only applies to junk items that have no sell price - requires the vendor or delete action to be applied to category)
  • changed - delete no longer requires you to be at a vendor
  • changed - currency scans will now only be skipped if youre in an actual dragon race, not just mounted.
  • changed - all collection scanning will now be skipped during dragonriding races. it will re-scan once the race is over (if needed).
  • added - category system > openable
  • added - category consumable > professions - knowledge (it used to fall back into power systems (old))
  • added - (timerunning) config > general > actions > use - will automatically use (open) any infinite treasure or bronze caches that you loot (disabled by default)
  • updated - (timerunning) mailbox auto send has been disabled
  • updated - category for some items

known issues
  • some default frames (vendor/merchant at minimum) that would normally open via the PlayerInteractionFrameManager no longer open if you are in combat, you just get an addon error. there is currently no workaround.
  • (dragonflight) reagentbank slots are no longer readable unless the bank is open
  • recipes on vendors are showing item counts for the items they create, not the recipe
  • Enum.ItemConsumableSubclass is missing the Flask entry and everything after has moved down a value which screws up the category names (have hardcoded a workaround for the moment)
  • items with an active cooldown dont allow comparison tooltips to generate
  • cooldowns no longer start automatically. you can close/open the bag to get them to show (if you enable that option). all of the cooldown events ACTIONBAR_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, BAG_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, PET_BAR_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, SPELL_UPDATE_COOLDOWN, appear to trigger off other players as well, but do not provide any indication whether the event was triggered by you or them, so cooldowns will trigger window refreshes fairly constantly when you are around large numbers of players. even limiting it to one update per second generated too much lag, especially in massive groups.
  • chat link for a battlepet in the guild bank will not send
  • the first time you click on a hyperlink in chat it wont show the item counts

to do
  • double check all categories show/hide for the right clients
  • confirm things havent broken in classic, wrath, or shadowlands
  • restack disable - maybe change this to require a modifier key instead of a straight disable? might be easier to shift/alt/ctrl click on it than turning it on/off and its not like youll accidentally do it (which is why the disable was added)
  • backpack tokens to scroll when max width reached on second line
  • extend the categoryset actions to individual items for additional granular control.
  • add action; move (bank to bag, bag to bank, bag to vault, vault to bag)
  • add actions to items
  • allow multiple actions on a category / item

this is really out of date but what happened to including rarity in sort? and what are the pt catagories and rules?...i havent had a chance to experiment

include rarity in sort is there.

pt categories (in 1.45) are categories that use periodic table sets instead of you having to select each item - the sets are also updated (every now and then) by that mods author and the general ace community can update it as well if required.

rules are a way to categories items by their characteristics, eg equip location, rarity, type, subtype, name, tooltip text, etc, etc - rules are functional in the 2.00 beta, but not in 1.45

where is the include rarity in sort? the last version i had (a long time ago) had it menu->sorting->include rarity in sort. the version i have now and i believe it is the most recent is 1.45 and only has bag/slot, name, then instant is checkable

it's still there in the same place, it just hides when you pick bag/slot because theres no point showing any of the sort includes unless it's sorted by name.

Using version 2.02

I see that u can’t change the default category off a item anymore, but assigned rules have high precedence over default category.

My question is where do u get the default category off a item?
Because some items start (for me at least) with a strange default categorie. Example:
Most of the raw colored gems default to enchanting and not jewelcrafting.
Elixir of major agility default to blacksmith (???)

Any way to change the default category assignment to something like item type ?
so we can use the pre-build filters (SKILL, CLASS, etc)

Would like to see default category menu list for each item again. Have no idea on how to change one item current category to a custom category or one of the build in category. It was easier the old way.

It's very hard to manipulate some of the menus. It seems after I use a slider once, then I can no longer move the mouse over to the drop down menus. Its a pain in the ass and basically either im not in the 'sweet spot' with the cursor or its just not working properly. Please take a look.

cant use right now still alot of bug put it back in beta and take a look on memory usage is ridiculous .....

lol just exemple shammy cant add fish oil ,fish scale & totem on shaman category.

when you try make a new bar for trinket everything come with

and imposible to split soulbond & non soulbond armor again everything come

it's the dewdrop menu mod i (and pretty much every ace mod author) use. i'm looking at waterfall instead but it's not quite right for AI. still trying though.
