An Advanced Tooltip Addon
TipTac is a tooltip enchancement addon, it allows you to configure various aspects of the tooltip, such as moving where it's shown, the font, the scale of tips, plus many more features.
To open the option dialog, just use "/tip" without any parameters. Use "/tip anchor" to show the anchor frame and position it as you want.
You can always get the latest release of this addon on WoWInterface.com. Please post your comments, questions and suggestions for this addon there.

While we're talking about Overachiever, can you look at the way Overachiever alters the tooltips for achievements and emulate that behavior in TipTacItemRef? I stopped using Overachiever, but I miss that feature.

Any chance of an option to disable TipTacItemRef's achievement comparison code, but keeping the icon and points stuff?
I prefer the way Overachiever does it and have been commenting out pretty much all of the code in TipTypeFuncs:achievement(), but keeping the :SetIconTextureAndText() part uncommented. |

Here are the specific changes to the TipTacItemRef addon this release.
TipTacItemRef Changes | 2010 Nov 12 ----------------------------------- - The default item level text, is now hidden to avoid two lines showing the item level. - Fixed a nil error with the local "owner", which could happen on occasions. - The "Quality Colored Border" option, which colors the tooltip border based on the item rarity, has been moved from the core TipTac addon, into TipTacItemRef. - With "Smart Icons" enabled, it will no longer display an icon for guild bank items, auction house items, as well as mail attachment tooltips. - Improved the "Smart Icons" option, it should now show the icon on even less frames. - Added a new option, to show who the caster of a specific aura is. So when showing a buff or debuff tooltip, an extra line will be shown, as to who who applied this aura. pod76au Aw cwap, I just uploaded a new version this minute, and now I see this :P I use an auction addon, and didn't notice it was getting shown there. I'll get an AH exception into the next release then. Edit: Just went and added the auction house items to the smart icon exception list, and reuploaded the file before it had gotten approved

Always make sure you have the latest release before posting a bug report. This has been fixed now. ForeverTheGM, brknsoul & kittykatmax This issue has been resolved for the next release. Yousend The smart icon option will not work with everything, but I will try and take a look at it. What actionbar addon are you using by the way? pod76au The next release will have an exception added for the guild bank. As for the other things, I will try and look into improving the smart icon option. dssurge This was actually a bug before, it was never suppose to anchor those tooltips to the mouse. Let me try and explain how TipTac works. Addons can pick two ways to display the tooltip, either by using the default anchor, which is what TipTac repositions, or decide themselves where to anchor the tooltip, TipTac never moves these. Tooltips for lets say bag items, does not use the default anchor, they will be anchored to the itemslot your mouse is over, and thus TipTac will not change these. Now I realise this is perhaps an unwanted fix/change, and I want to somehow correct that, with a proper option. I'll try to come up with something for the next release. Perhaps in the line of "Reposition non-default anchored tooltips". Here is the quote from the 10.11.09 changelog.

I'm having a small issue with the ItemRef option Smart Icon Appearance. It works great for the most part, but it doesn't seem to be working for the Guild Vault, i still see the icons. I'm also having a problem with it working with macaroon bars, i have all but 3 of my buttons on the macaroon bars set to macro, and it still shows the icons for them, for the other 3 which are set to action buttons it works fine.

hey, I've been using the mod for a while, and since last night (11.10.2010) I can't seem to get tiptac to hide the icon when I mouse over my stances, I already had smart Icon appearance on, is this something that's been removed/bugged?

Issue with 10.11.10 version
Anchoring seems a bit broken. Reverting to an older version doesn't seem to correct the issue, so I'm thinking it might be caused be a small launcher update. When set to mouse anchor, default UI buff/debuffs snap to their default anchors (parent, bottom left), items and character frame gear is also on it's default anchors (top left and right, parent). This seems to only be affecting Frame Tip Type anchors. |
