GuildPoll

Version: 0.1
by: Julith [More]

Description:

This addon enables creation and execution of polls in the guild-, party- or raid chat.
This addon listen for commands preceeding with "!" in guild-, party-, raid- and whisper chats. See below for the full command list.

Commandlist:

Every command can be written in guild-, party-, raid- or whisper channel.
Commands begin with a "!".

"!newpoll" or "!np" [<poll channel>] <question text>
Creates a new poll with the specified question text at the specified poll channel.
If the poll channel is ommited the channel the command was written in is used.
If the command was written per whisper you have to specifiy the poll channel.

"!addoption" [<poll channel>] <question text>
Adds a new option to the poll at the specified channel.
If the poll channel is ommited the channel the command was written in is used.
If the command was written per whisper it tries to find a poll.

"!vote" [<poll channel>] <option number>
Votes for option with the specified option number.
See above command for notes on [<pollchannel>].

"!getpoll" or "!gp" [<poll channel>]
Returns the poll data.
See above command for notes on [<pollchannel>].

"!voters" [<poll channel>]
Returns a list of the players who have already voted.
See above command for notes on [<pollchannel>].

"!postpoll" or "!post" [<poll channel>]
Posts the poll data to the respective channel.
See above command for notes on [<pollchannel>].

Please note:

Use this addon with caution! It can easily annoy people so only use it if you guild/raid/party is ok with it.
To decrease chatspam you also should try to do the most commands per whisper. (You can whisper yourself.)
I don't take resposibility for guild-/party-/raid kicks!

Known problems:
"Find one bug, get another one for free!"

- might annoy people

Oh god...I'm so stupid! I thought he meant the physical memory of his PC.

I'll see if I can write something for the next version.

But the reason behind the chatcommands is that other player in the same guild/group/raid don't need to install any addon and still can create polls and vote on them.

By looking at your .toc and Libs folder contents I can say the addon will not work if run standalone.

Libraries have their own dependencies (most prominent among them AceLibrary which loads them all)

The addon will probably only run for people that already have other Ace2 addons on their system,
or the Ace2 core libraries installed disembedded.

I'm noting it to pre-empt the inevitable "not working for me" comments that appear

Thanks for sharing your work.
Thanks for the hint, I've fixed it and will upload it with the next Version. I've written and published another addon with the same problem two months ago but got no complains about that by now. Seems that almost every has in some way Ace isntalled
