Action Bar Saver  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v2.3.3
by: Shadowed [More]

Quick little mod, allows you to setup different profiles for your action bars. Mainly this is for hybrid classes that want to be able to respec without spending 10-20 minutes setting their action bars up. All you do is type /abs save <name> and it'll save the location of all your spells, macros and items.

For example, if you're currently a Feral Druid you can type /abs save feral then you can respec to Resto and setup your bars, then type /abs save resto once you go respec back to Feral you can then train all your spells again and type /abs restore feral and you'll get your feral setup without all the work of actually finding where you placed things.

Works with any custom interface like Bongos provided you're not using more then the standard 120 action buttons, ones that provided features to go past 120 will cause only the standard 120 to be saved/restored. This isn't a bug however, just a limitation in the WoW API

Actually doing all keys would be even better because for example my targeting key is different on my DPS and tank chars/specs than on my healers.
But it sounds like its not a planned feature?

While I'll still maintain it for people that need beyond 2 specs/transfering setups between characters, odds are you don't need to use it most of the time.
If you could add a way to save keybindings aswell for each profile, I at least would use it.
Blizzards way doesnt do that and especially for druids that simply needed to do a feral/balance or feral/resto dual spec.

It depends what you mean specifically, Blizzard offers something like 70 buttons by default, but unofficially support up to 120 buttons. As long as you do not go beyond 120 buttons then ABS will work with Bartender, if you go beyond 120 then it'll only support those 120.

Does this work with addons like Bartender4? In other words, ones that can add more bars than the blizz ui. Concerned about bars not transferring between specs if there are more than just the blizz ones active.

Thanks for that additional info. Will definitely be giving this one a try when 3.1 goes live with the dual specs.

Profiles are saved per class then by name, so as long as the Druid is on the same account you can use the same profiles for the of them. You cannot use the same one for a Shaman and Druid thought, but because it stores them by class first you can save two sets named "resto" and when you're on a Druid it restores the Druid one, and on the Shaman it restores the Shamans.

The profiles are saved according to the current character logged in? Like say I had a druid, like your example, that I wanted to save 2 sets of action bars for...now if I had a druid on another faction or server would its profiles be saved separate even if I named them the same or would I have to call them something unique. Or say I saved a resto one for said druid but wanted to do the same for say a shaman, can I do the resto thing for both? If I'm understanding what this mod can do, it would be a godsend for dualspecs when 3.1 goes live.

Companions are considered mounts, and the companion saving is back as soon as 3.1 goes live.

r1206, USEng client/server, WoW 3.0.9 live. Yes, you removed "companion" saving in this version. But..when you restore a profile (a new one), any mounts you had attached to the Blizzard action bars disappear as well.

Sure, companions are not critical (and you can use a macro to use them), but mounts are more so. There is much less need to use a macro for mounts nowadays as 71+ characters can't use mount speed trinkets.

This no-choice-deleting-on-profile-restore makes using ABS2 a lot more of a hassle to use than it used to be. So would be nice if you could keep the mod from auto-deleting mount icons on profile restore.

Yes it still works with 3.0, the only thing that won't work with 3.0 anymore is the companion saving (So you might want to make them into /use macros for now)

NOTE I am moving to using my portal for feature and bug requests, please direct them to http://www.wowinterface.com/portal.php?id=269 from now on general comments and such can still go in the comments, but as I do not have unlimited time anymore it's easier for me to see what needs to be fixed or implemented if I can just look at a single list instead of searching through 60 addon comments.

Even if you already posted a bug or feature, re-posting it in the portal would be a big help. Thanks!
