Hey Guys,
Currently I'm maintaining this adddon, however I have no plans to add new features as I don't play WOW anymore (WOW withdrawals are real). If someone is interested in taking it over from me please see the TOC on the addon and contact me using the current maintainer information.

BuffWatcher is an addon that will check your buffs, and if you're missing an essential one, it'll put a warning up on the screen. All buffs are completely optional! Only check for the buffs you want to, and you can change buff checks any time. BuffWatcher should now be able to watch any buff, proc, or aura. If you run into a problem or have a request, please post it here!
BuffWatcher now works very differently than pre-Cata versions. Buffs now belong to Categories, and if any buff in a Buff Category is found, then that Buff Category is satisfied. Categories are completely independent of each other (you could have the same buff in two, or three, or five different Buff Categories, or you can have one buff in each Buff Category. BuffWatcher doesn't care).
For example, the Warlock spells Demon Skin, Demon Armor, and Fel Armor could all go in one Buff Category, with the short name of "Armor". If any of the three buffs are active on the you, then the "Armor" Buff Category is satisfied. If none of those buffs are active, then you will get an "Armor Missing!" message.
For example, a Shaman's Earth Shield can only be on one target, and you want to know when it falls off.
For example, all of a Paladin's Auras could go in an "Aura" Buff Category, because a Paladin would want an aura active at all times. Let's say the paladin only wants Crusader Aura active out-of-combat: He could remove Crusader Aura from the "Aura" Buff Category (so if he has Crusader Aura active, BuffWatcher will warn of a missing Aura). But that's not very good; a better option would be to instead make a new Buff Category, have it only have Crusader Aura, and mark that Buff Category as "do not want" (so if he has Crusader Aura active, then BuffWatcher will warn him that Crusader Aura is active). But that's not the best solution, because Paladins do want Crusader Aura active, they just don't want it active in-combat. So if the Paladin unchecks the "out-of-combat" option, then BuffWatcher will only check for Crusader Aura when the player is in combat, and will only issue a warning if Crusader Aura is active.

2.00 is released! Big changes in this version:
The last bullet is VERY important. I only tested with 1440x900 resolution, but the code is in place such that the auto-placement should work with any resolution currently supported by Blizzard. If you're having any problem with BuffWatcher and your resolution, please please please let me know. Screenshots are great (much more descriptive than words), you can get free image hosting from www.photobucket.com (that's what i use). Enjoy! |

2.20 is out!
Napkin, I am also working on that command to change the size of the font, but it's not working as well as i'd like (as in, at all ). Hopefully i'll get it figured out and released soon |

wouldn't a rogue's posion be a semi-permanent buff? you wouldn't have to put a specfic one in but something like "Posion missing".

2.21 is out! More commands, and rogues are now supported
Napkin, i got the font resizing to work, but the new fontsize doesn't look pretty until you reload the UI. I'll keep playing with it until it works better, it has to be possible since SCT does it ... But until then this version is usable |

Actually I have a problem with /bw command
Each time I try to move my frame by using the command, its pop up a warning for bw aka Bigwigs Tried also to reset the place frame and I got : 11:49:09 Type '/help' for a listing of a few commands. 11:49:22 [BW] The warning frame is now showing. 11:49:45 Big Wigs (standby): [reset] is not a valid option for /bw It seems that sometimes the command accept to work with /buffwatcher but not all the time. So I end up with my frame stuck and not movable ay more. Went back to old version all is fine [BW] BuffWatcher active. [BW] BuffWatcher initialized. 11:38:11 [BW] The warning frame is now showing. 11:38:27 [BW] The warning frame has been made movable when ALT is held. 11:42:48 BigWigs: [150, 150] is not a valid option for /bw ------------ Removed Bigwigs to see if I could finally get the frame to move. I receive the warning so I can move the frame but no way. holding ALT and trying to move does nothing. I even tried to directly put new settings in my saved variables lua but no way the frame is stuck at the same place. I could change the font size to 14.

hmm
it seems that BigWigs also uses the "/bw" shortcommand, did you try with "/buffwatcher "? i'm a bit shaky with how slash commands work, honestly But it seems to me that using /buffwatcher instead of /bw should fix that ... also, which commands in particular are you having problems with? I can look into them to make sure that they're still working (everything was the last time i checked, maybe i broke one iwthout realizing?) edit: Also, it's /bw set x y not /bw x y dunno if you noticed that
