Hey Guys,
Currently I'm maintaining this adddon, however I have no plans to add new features as I don't play WOW anymore (WOW withdrawals are real). If someone is interested in taking it over from me please see the TOC on the addon and contact me using the current maintainer information.

BuffWatcher is an addon that will check your buffs, and if you're missing an essential one, it'll put a warning up on the screen. All buffs are completely optional! Only check for the buffs you want to, and you can change buff checks any time. BuffWatcher should now be able to watch any buff, proc, or aura. If you run into a problem or have a request, please post it here!
BuffWatcher now works very differently than pre-Cata versions. Buffs now belong to Categories, and if any buff in a Buff Category is found, then that Buff Category is satisfied. Categories are completely independent of each other (you could have the same buff in two, or three, or five different Buff Categories, or you can have one buff in each Buff Category. BuffWatcher doesn't care).
For example, the Warlock spells Demon Skin, Demon Armor, and Fel Armor could all go in one Buff Category, with the short name of "Armor". If any of the three buffs are active on the you, then the "Armor" Buff Category is satisfied. If none of those buffs are active, then you will get an "Armor Missing!" message.
For example, a Shaman's Earth Shield can only be on one target, and you want to know when it falls off.
For example, all of a Paladin's Auras could go in an "Aura" Buff Category, because a Paladin would want an aura active at all times. Let's say the paladin only wants Crusader Aura active out-of-combat: He could remove Crusader Aura from the "Aura" Buff Category (so if he has Crusader Aura active, BuffWatcher will warn of a missing Aura). But that's not very good; a better option would be to instead make a new Buff Category, have it only have Crusader Aura, and mark that Buff Category as "do not want" (so if he has Crusader Aura active, then BuffWatcher will warn him that Crusader Aura is active). But that's not the best solution, because Paladins do want Crusader Aura active, they just don't want it active in-combat. So if the Paladin unchecks the "out-of-combat" option, then BuffWatcher will only check for Crusader Aura when the player is in combat, and will only issue a warning if Crusader Aura is active.

Re: Only mine?
Edit: I couldn't reproduce the problem ... is it something on-going or was it a 1-time thing?

Only mine?
I have programmed in the right buffs/debuffs I want watched, I have set icons to where I want them, then log out... and all of my changes are gone.
Self-cast buffs remain, and function as they were programmed to, icons and everything. But raid choices, IDs, all the variables it took me so long to look up: gone. Am I not clicking something I'm supposed to? not pressing return where I ought? |

Edit: To add a proc, open the GUI, create a new Buff Category, and then add a buff to that Buff Category with the spell ID of the proc you want. For example, Warrior Taste for Blood is spell ID 56636 - http://www.wowhead.com/spell=56636 . Druid Omen of Clarity is spell ID 16864 - http://www.wowhead.com/spell=16864 . Some can be a bit ambiguous, for example Hunter Lock and Load: If you just wowhead it ( http://www.wowhead.com/search?q=lock+and+load ) then you might think the proper spell ID is 56342 ( http://www.wowhead.com/spell=56342 ) . However, if you look, you'll see that it has
TL;DR: BuffWatcher goes by name, so if you can find any spell or item ID with the correct name, then it will work fine.

New Feature request
1st of all, thanks for the really nice addon
I found it 'cause i was lookin' for an addon to track my buffs, procs, auras and debuffs. It works perfectly.. I just want to ask you if it's possible to recover stacks too from a proc. For example on my priest i want to track serendipity 3 stacks and i dunno how to do it with the actual version... It would be great if you could monitor debuffs too such as unchained magic or other icc bosses debuffs. what about it? |

Re: Re: Some Bugs i found today
ÜÖÄ etc are showing up correctly i have figured out that the special character written inGame are always correct other when "hardcoded" in lua or xml there you must take the ascii code thanks again for your hard work and the warning frame seems to work most of the time correct outside of citys mfg rza |

currently it's not possible to precisely replicate the old way of watching shouts. However you could delete the old "Shout" Buff Category, and make 2 new ones as listed above. This would allow you to separate the two shouts into two separate warnings. Or you could add the "non-shout" buffs to the current "Shout" Buff Category and uncheck "Watch Cast", which would give you similar functionality, except for the part about watching the shout you actually care about. Neither solution is ideal though ... the watchcast functionality in the new BuffWatcher doesn't really allow as much flexibility as i'd hoped. |

i really liked the old warrior shout warning functionality, and i'm wondering if there's a way to replicate it in the current system
here's a summary: group a: battle shout = strength of earth = horn of winter group b: commanding shout = power word: fortitude = blood pact if neither group is present, show battle shout warning if group a is present but group b is missing, show commanding shout warning if group b is present but group a is missing, show battle shout warning if both groups are present, show no warning if my own shout is present (regardless of if the other group is missing), show no warning is this possible? |
