Hi, my name is Thaoky, and I'm an Altoholic

Altoholic is an Ace 3 add-on written for people who dedicate most of their time to leveling alts, and who want to have as much information as possible in one place.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

I am back in the game since 28/12/2020.

If you are upgrading from a version below 9.0.003, YOU MUST CLEAR YOUR SAVED VARIABLES !!

This means cleaning the following files in \WTF\Account\<your_account>\SavedVariables : Altoholic.lua & All DataStore*.lua

About the add-on:

The add-on has been in development since December 2007 and was officially released in late March 2008. It provides you information about your alts (bags, mails, AH, etc...) without having to reconnect them all the time.

About the author:

I was born in '76 (you do the math) and I work as a Project Manager + Software Architect + Full Stack Web Dev (yup, multiple hats) in a large multinational, so my coding time is limited, and Work > Gaming.

I live in Belgium, and obviously play on EU only.

Assistance will be provided on a best effort basis, but in any case always be polite and respectful when asking for help, I am neither a teenager, nor a punching ball. I am a cool guy with people who are cool with me. Respect that rule and we'll be fine.

Current Issues:

2020/12/28: Due to Teelo's actions, I have reverted his changes and resumed development based on my latest version of the code. Some of his new features are temporarily not available anymore, some are gone forever. The main Shadowlands features will be back though, just be patient.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR 8.0 : As with every new expansion, many things have changed in the API, and it is REQUIRED to clear your Saved Variables for the addon.
This means cleaning the following files in \WTF\Account\<your_account>\SavedVariables : Altoholic.lua & All DataStore*.lua

There WILL be bugs if you use your old files without cleaning them first.
Some fixes to work around API changes are too time consuming, so cleaning is required. A meagre price to pay once per expansion.

- DataStore_Stats : Fixed a lua error when doing a /reload or visiting the Great Vault (Thanks GovtGeek !).
- DataStore_Quests : Added generic GetQuestLink.
- Grids tab: Added a quest link tooltip when mousing over a quest name in the "Quests" category.
- Summary tab -> currencies : added support for the Undercoin currency.
- Fixed max level default option still at 70 instead of 80 (Thanks Evoelise !).

- DataStore_Containers : Added proper support to delete a guild bank.
- DataStore_Containers : Fixed a lua error when changing the settings of an account bank tab.

- Fixed a tooltip issue that prevented "Could be stored on" message to be displayed when mousing over reagents.
- Summary tab: updated the level filter to support levels up to 80.
- Trader's Tender is now recognized as an account-wide currency, and no additional data is listed in its currency tooltip.
- Added early support for TWW currencies.
- DataStore_Currencies : Transfer of currencies is now properly supported.
- DataStore_Containers : Added support for the warband bank.
- Added the warband bank item count in the tooltip.

I forgot to mention this also happens with Cooking recipes. I'll check to see if this happens with my other characters with other professions.

I just released .013, and since there were a few bugfixes around this, could you let me know if this still happens ?

1) The fact that you have to relog a character is somewhat unavoidable, the thing is that blizzard clears the local item cache means that items in your alt bags are unknown. The best thing would be to completely clean the lua database, or to relog all characters once before playing with the addon.

2) The mailbox items are grayed out because I'm reading the body of the mails, this is not a bug, but there's an option (scan mail body) that can be disabled if you dislike this.

3) I don't intend to implement quest rewards, as the loot table I'm using comes from AtlasLoot, but I intend to implement a "Find upgrade" feature that will propose upgrades based on the item level (+ item type of course). Should happen soon

"Premiers soins" is now "Secourisme". I suspect other changes in frFR, and most likely in deDE too. If you notice any problem with professions and you're playing in frFR or deDE, please keep in mind that this is certainly related. Do not hesitate to submit this information here and I'll update asap. Also, I've been reported issues with fubar, issues that I had solved in the past (2 icons when fubar is not installed), but I couldn't reproduce them. Still checking though.

Reload wow and it should be ok.

Edit: I just found out what the problem is. The thing is that you must have another addon that uses LibBabble-Inventory3.0, and until the library is updated (I'll try to do this tomorrow), you need to manually make the same hack in the other addon's version of the library. My friend found it in rating buster & atlas loot, but they're probably not the only addons that uses it.

I'll update shortly anyway, but in the meantime, this will solve your problem.
