Mists of Pandaria Notice
The official 5.0 release will be ready in a couple of weeks time for general testing. Until then an unofficial patch is available here.
Credits
Sinsthar (base & original concept) - Garstiger (continued) - Dridtz (continued) - Smacker & Meorawr (continued)
Background
Designed to give visual or audible cues to the user in response to in-game events, such as gaining buffs or debuffs. Types of cues range from simple texture displays to stack counters, timers to timer bars, and are fully user-configurable. Can be animated or have sounds attached as well.
How to Use
Tutorials will be written and linked here soon, stay tuned!
Reporting Issues
Go to the CurseForge site and Submit a Ticket. Please do not suggest features via the ticket system, and instead use our UserVoice forum.
If you do submit a ticket, we will reply if more information is requested. If no additional information is given in response, we will mark the ticket as Invalid. Feature suggestions are immediately marked invalid.
Feature Requests
There is a UserVoice forum for adding and discussing new features. Submit all feature requests here, but please do not duplicate requests. Duplicates will be exterminated. Painfully.
Looking for Help!
We're always looking for a helping hand. You don't need to be an expert coder to help us out, we've plenty of things that need people to oversee. Of course, knowing code has some benefits - ever wanted to get a feature implemented? Maybe fix a pesky bug that we said we'd fix two months ago? Now's your chance!

Hi.
Was wondering if there´s any plans to expand Powerauras to include funcionality for spell/text/emote alerting. I know there are other addons that can provide some of this functionality, but as far as i know none of them has options to replace the alerttext with Icons like Poweraura does. Reason im asking is cause for certain encounters, such as the Eredar Twins and the Conflag debuff they cast, there is no debufficon to set PAuras to detect, just an emote in the chat, followed by the cast of the spell, and the screen, as a melee, looks like a neonfield making it kind of difficult to read any text on the screen without playing around with your cameraangle, which is annoying.

That is the expected behavior yes.
In some cases the two situations are indistinguishable (ex. potions and consumables) but the Action Usable triggers is exactly what the name says. When an action button is actually able to be used all conditions considered. It is the exact equivalent of your actionbuttons "dimming" in the default ui when you can't use them, transposed to a visible aura. |

Action Usable bug?
Fantastic mod, thanks for making it.
I'm having issues with the "action usable" function. Unless I'm doing something wrong it doesn't really work for item and spell cooldowns very well. It appears to only activate if a spell/item is "usable", meaning you are in the correct form, you have a friendly targetted etc. Unfortunately an item being off cooldown and being usable are two different things that don't always exist together. Example - Swiftmend, only usable if and when you have a friendly targetted with a Rejuvenation/Regrowth ticking away. In this case if both of those functions are not true at the time that the spell comes off of cooldown the aura will not show. Is this working as intended? I thought the main use for this function was for tracking cooldowns but I could be wrong. |

To create an aura that will activate based on a specific temporary enchant: - select "Weapon Enchant" as activation trigger. - type a partial or complete name of the temporary buff. To filter the temporary enchant by slot: - select "Weapon Enchant". - prepend the temporary buff name with 'main' or 'off' and a forward slash '/' for mainhand and offhand respectively. Example: 'off/windfury' should show an aura (and timer if selected) only for the offhand weapon. 'main' and 'off' are optional. Omitting them and inputing only the temporary buff name will make the aura trigger if any/either of the weapons is buffed with it. If you want the old functionality of the aura activating for any temporary enchant on the weapon (not just a specific one) you can input the partial or full name of the weapon instead of the buff name.

The tooltip is misleading, putting "main", "off" or "both" in the buffname field has no effect. As it is now it's checking the name of the temporary enchant and activates by looking at the mainhand weapon first, and the offhand weapon only if it's not found on the main. In essence the offhand weapon will only be checked if the mainhand weapon doesn't have the temporary enhancement, or if the weapons are enhanced with different temporary enchants (for example different poisons). This is not the case with windfury obviously. There will be a fix for it in the next version (once I decide what's the expected behavior) This was working as the tooltip hint indicates on Sinsthar's last version (2.34): Entering the keywords "main", "off" or "both" in the buffname field checked the weapons for any temporary enchant. It meant that the aura would trigger for wf, stones, poison, oil or whatever happened to be on the weapon, no way to have aura displayed based on specific temporary enchant. If that's the desired behavior it's easy to revert to that code. Feature was broken in Power Auras Continued (which I incorporated when starting this project).

Hiya,
I seem to be getting an issue with weapon buffs, only the Off hand weapon tho - main hand works absolutely fine. Cant figure out whats wrong - after hours of attempts i thought it's about time i posted here I'm a shaman, and want and aura shown for when my Windfury is out. So far i've managed to get the main hand aura working with no issues at all and was real easy to set up but the off hand just doesnt want to work. setup by setting as weapon buff and using the weapon's name. using main, off, or both as the tooltip says has no effect whatsoever even on main hand, atho the debug message seems to recognise the buff as actve, nothing actually changes. Doesnt matter what weapon i use - even if i have the same weapon in both hands, main hand aura is fine, off hand isnt :/ Any suggestions?

Re: Pets?
For the hunter pet you want: - a Health threshold trigger set at 75%. - check UnitName checkbox and input "pet". For the warlock pet: - a Mana threshold trigger set at 99 or 100% - checking the "inverse" checkbox next to slider (this will make it so the threshold becomes a "high" threshold instead of the default for mana warnings which is "low") - check UnitName checkbox and input "pet". (same as above)

you'll see on the left 2 sections: - Character effects on top. - Global effects below. Creating auras while having selected the Character effects section, keeps them for the character. Making auras while having selected the Global effects section enables them for all toons.

Having problems with different chars. My warlock have some auras when different things happen. Everything works fine. When I'm on with one of my other chars, the same auras will be there. Maybe I didn't realize exactly how PowerAuras work with different profiles.
If someone knows I would be thankful for some help. |

I have pet support in my working copy through the "UnitName" field.
When the user inputs "pet" as name there. I'm contemplating adding an extra checkbox "pet" instead, but I don't see a good reason for it plus the editor is becoming a bit cluttered already, the less checkboxes the better. Kawolski made some reasonable arguments about requested features so there's a good chance most of that list will make it into the addon at some point. Garstiger was kind enough to submit a sizable patch for making "Text Auras" possible (Kawolski item #7) but it is not release ready (there's issues with timers, some animations, editing of existing auras and changing their type, among other things). Still, it is coming along nicely and it will be in one of next versions. At the moment any new features are more likely to appear in the WotLK version first, and then backported to the Live version (maybe :P). I'd really not want to duplicate the amount of work for a version that is destined for the recycle bin in a month or two (when patch 3.0 hits)
