Dominos is an action bar addon intended to do the following:

  • Reuse as much standard blizzard action button code as possible.
  • Contain a relatively minimal feature set
  • Be easy to use
  • Be stable

It includes the following features:
  • 10 action bars, pet, class, menu, and bag bars. Each one has customizable settings for padding, spacing, columns, scale, and opacity.
  • A movable experience/reputation bar.
  • Customizable paging. You can switch pages on: action bar pages, modifier keys, forms, and targeting.
  • Customizable show states. You can tell your bar under which macro options to show, and at what opacity.
  • Fading bars. You can set your bars to fade out to a certain opacity when not moused over.
  • The ability to customize showing empty buttons or not
  • Masque support
  • LibKeyBound support
  • Sticky frames (FlyPaper)
  • The ability to move buttons in combat
  • A movable casting bar (optional)
  • Configurable right click targeting
  • Configurable self cast key settings
  • Configurable Possess/Override/Vehicle Bar support

...and will probably not end up with the following:
  • A stats bar
  • A minimap bar
  • True variable length bars

Here's how you use it:
  • To see the current list of slash commands, type /dom ? or /dominos ?
  • To open up the options menu, either go into interface options, or type /dom
  • To move bars around, either go into the options menu and press the "Enter Config Mode" button, or type /dom lock
  • To bind keys, enter binding mode via /kb or /keybound, or press the "Enter Binding Mode" button in the options menu.
  • Hold down alt while moving a bar to disable sticky bars

...and this is why I wrote it:
  • I have significantly less time to code now than I did previously. Dominos is intended to be easier to maintain.
  • I wanted to see how much I could do while maintaining compatibility with the standard action button code.
  • I'm not entirely happy with the direction I took with Bongos3. I added features that I do not see myself using personally, and thus feel that those features will be neglected and bug ridden.

You can use the following to add extra functionality:
  • tullaRange - Colors action buttons red when out of range
  • OmniCC - Adds cooldown count text
  • Masque - Allows you to change the look of buttons
  • AdiButtonAuras - Adds buff and debuff highlighting + duration text

Patch 5.4.7 Micro Menu

The Help Button has been removed from the micro menu now. The Game Menu Button now has a Questionmark (for no reason) and it shows the ticket status on this new (old) botton.
Just so you know if someone asks but I don't think you have to change anything since dominos can disable every button.

Pet Attack icon flash

The pet bar icon flashes green when my shadowfriend attacks a mob. I think its a missing texture right? This is teasing me for some time now because its pulling unneeded attention

I actually have the same issue, with the shape shift bar. Thought it was a bug in Dominos. Turned out to be my KeyBinding add-on.

Perhaps worth checking?

If I disable "Show empty buttons" even the tooltips are not there. The problem is reproducible every time I enter the noodle time scenario (all other addons disabled and the dominos profiles reset).

The fact that the tooltips are working (indicating that it figured out the right action ids) but the icons are not is pretty bizarre.

I added these lines in:
addState('modifier', 'stance1-shift', '[stance:1,mod:shift]', 'Stance1-Shift')
addState('modifier', 'stance3-shift', '[stance:3,mod:shift]', 'Stance3-Shift')

The new options show up in the Modifiers settings.

BTW, I like the fact that I only needed to add two rather simple lines of code to add the features I wanted. Kudos for the well designed code.

Right now, you have the ability for an action bar to page based on stance (e.g. Cat Form) or if a modifier key is being held down. I was checking to see if I missed an option somewhere that would let me select an action bar based on stance AND modifier, e.g. Caster Form uses bar 1, Cat Form uses bar 7, Cat Form + Shift key uses bar 8.

Am I overlooking a configuration setting?

Yes, except that bar1 and bar2 would be "groups" of the individual action bar buttons that I could define.

I understand and I wasn't looking for a fancy GUI to be implemented or anything like that. I would be happy with a hack-n-slash implementation that was able to be edited directly in the Lua code, but I know that you can't really provide support for such an addition that isn't actually a feature of your add-on -- I was just hoping.

I'll throw up a post on the WoWI and Blizzard forums to see if anyone might want to tackle this.

First, I'd like to say thanks for creating and maintaining Dominos. I've been using it since probably Wrath (as well as Bagnon and OmniCC) and was pretty bummed out when you almost decided to stop updating them. I'm glad it all worked out in the end and hopefully the next expansion will help motivate you for at least one more year.

With that being said, I was wondering how to go about a semi-advanced modification to Dominos. Let me explain what is is I'd like...

I've broken up everything into individual buttons with the advanced function (/dom numbuttons 120) and here is a rough draft of my current action button layout:



Now, I've used Show States before to show/hide my bars using specific conditionals, but I'd like to see if it can be taken a step further. Buttons 7 and 24 are at the center of each cluster, and I think it'd look cool if I could get the surrounding buttons to fade in or out one "layer" or "group" at a time.

This is difficult to explain in text and I don't have my video editing software installed at the moment, but please, just bear with me and my quick and dirty example.

Upon entering combat while using the show state: [combat]100;0

Code:
                                          Fade In
                          (Seconds After Player Enters Combat)

Group 1 (Buttons 7/15/19)                   0 (Normal Fade In)
Group 2 (Buttons 4/5/6 & 8/9/10)            0.20
Group 3 (Buttons 2/3/14/17 & 11/12/16/18)   0.40
Group 4 (Buttons 1 & 13)                    0.60
So, starting from the center column leading outwards in each direction, this would end up giving a smooth animated fade in as I entered combat -- Kind of like a "Entering Combat!" heads up display look/feel. When exiting combat, the opposite "animation" would happen where the groups would fade out in reverse order.

The time in seconds I've chosen above are just estimations, but the overall animation, in my crazy vision, would likely take no longer than 1 second to execute from start to finish.

Does my crazy example make sense or will I have to create a mock up video of this? If it does make sense, is this possible to make happen in Dominos?
