PolMonitor  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.1.18.30000
by: Polina [More]

This addon helps you make sure you have all the buffs you should have, that your target and focus target have the debuffs they should have, and that you're using your spell and item cooldowns as often as possible. It does this by letting you set up monitors for the buffs, debuffs, spells/skills and items you're interested in. The monitors appear visually as standard action buttons on the screen.

When everything is ok (you have the monitored buff, your target has the debuff, the cooldown is running, ..) the corresponding button is faded out. When something is missing or the cooldown is up the button becomes fully opaque, signaling that something needs to be done. Buttons that represent skills/spells/items you have can be clicked to trigger the appropriate action.

Use /polmonitor to configure.

2008-11-04 - 1.1.18
- Target for spell cooldown monitors for spells without range now defaults to None, to make them castable with no target.

2008-10-26 - 1.1.17
- Added range/power/usable checking

2008-10-24 - 1.1.16
- Moved wotlk version to main verison
- Fixed InterfaceOptions_OpenToFrame name change

2008-09-03 - 1.1.15
- Bugfix for item monitors with unknown icons
- Fix for slow monitor reaction time when "ignore global cooldown" is active
- Added ability to move buttons up and down in the list

2008-08-27 - 1.1.14
- Added "mineonly" option to buff monitors
- Added "invert" option to monitors
- Added ability to set a custom texture on monitors

2008-08-14 - 1.1.13
- Added macro cooldown monitor
- Added weapon enchant monitor

2008-08-07 - 1.1.12
- Debuff monitor cooldowns should now show correctly even when other people have applied the same debuff
- Option on debuff monitors to ignore other peoples debuffs (defined as debuffs we don't get a cooldown for)

2008-08-06 - 1.1.11
- Added option to ignore global cooldown.

2008-08-06 - 1.1.10
- Uploaded what should have been in 1.1.9.. :)

2008-08-05 - 1.1.9
- Added option on groups to ignore mouse input.

2008-07-31 - 1.1.8
- Fixed a problem when deleting groups - layout and buttons weren't cleaning themselves up properly.

2008-07-29 - 1.1.7
- Added target selection (self, pet, target, focus target) to buff monitors.

2008-07-27 - 1.1.6
- Added global options for button fade level, whether to fade the cooldown (this is a hack, it might not work well with cooldown or skinning addons), and whether to register with cyCircled and/or ButtonFacade (requires ui reload to take full effect).
- Added option on target debuff monitors to check current target or the focus target (for keeping track of sheep on my mage, fear on my lock).

2008-07-26 - 1.1.5
- Fixed problem with empty groups not always being draggable
- Added "Equipped only" option on item cooldown monitors
- Added equipment slot monitor support (mainly for use with trinkets I guess)
- Fixed cooldowns not refreshing properly when reset before they run out
- Fixed some other cooldown sync issues

2008-07-23 - 1.1.4
- Fixed the uglified frame border back to how it originally was!

2008-07-23 - 1.1.3
- Cooldown support. For spell and item cooldown monitors the actual cooldown is used, for buff and target debuff monitors the time left on the (de)bugg is used instead.
- Groups are now scaleable
- Default target for spell cooldown monitors can now be configured

2008-07-21 - 1.1.0
- Converted to Ace3.
- Added ButtonFacade and cyCircled support. Sadly I couldn't find a good way to dynamically update cyCircled with new/deleted groups, so it will only be able to interact with groups that were there the last time the GUI was loaded.
- Stopped using my own haxed button template. This uglified the buttons somewhat (to my eyes at least), but made it simpler to work with ButtonFacade and cyCircled.

This was made impossible on purpose last year with 2.0. Otherwise we could stack all the buttons on top of each other and just click away, and it would use each as the mod decided it was best to use them (you would be on autopilot).

Blizz wants you to know and choose to use your abilities. This mod just helps make it clear when they wear off or become available, and convenient to use them.

1.1.17

Added range checking. Using RedRange directly wouldn't work since the buttons aren't normal action buttons but I, uh, borrowed some things.

Please note that I haven't tested this a lot, so shout out if anything's off. Also note that range checking only works when the monitor is set to use your current target, not for focus, pet etc.

Edit: Oh, and, it doesn't work for macros.

Edit2: Grr. I can't figure out how to get other mouse buttons to work right.

This addon is essential for me, great work, thank you very much Polina!

About the range support: RedRange does it for normal action bars (I use Dominos and it works well). That addon supports standard ActionButtons, maybe it does work with PolMonitor too, or if not, perhaps PolMonitor can be made to support it with a little effort...

Fixed the config issue and moved the wotlk version here, so it should work now.

Any chance for an update to this REALLY great addon??

it does not seem to work with the latest patch.

Having multiple toons, and remember to buff up before starting to play, has never been easier

Two things would make this the best addon ever.

Range check and fade out when I don't have enough rage/mana/energy. I hide my action bars and use this exclusively and its annoying when I can't tell why something isn't working because I dont have enough mana.

Thanks for this addon.

New issue

Any chance you could make it work with right click/middle click / shift click (Or generally with macros that have things like [btn:2] in them)?

Ah the AddOn that i missed in my combats. ty
good for tanking to make sure that is thunder clap on the boss all the time.

request: buttons are getting huger or are moving in the center of the screen, then the debuff or buff is fading.

Teadragon: Thanks . I don't think I'll add dropdowns though. It has to be possible to monitor buffs/debuffs you can't cast yourself (making sure everybody else keeps their debuffs up on the boss, making sure my hunter has kings, etc.), and I don't want to have both a dropdown and a text entry field.

Warlocomotif: I haven't been able to reproduce that. Could you post or pm me exactly how your options are set up (global and on the macro monitor itself) and a step by step description of what you do when it happens?

Macro cooldown

Macro cooldown is working very strange for this macro:

#showtooltip
/cast [btn:3,target=pet]Misdirection
/cast [btn:2,target=focus]Misdirection
/cast [btn:1,target=help]Misdirection
/cast [btn:1,target=targettarget,help]Misdirection
/cast misdirection

It basically fades out everytime a GCD is triggered.

Great work, thanks for this addon!

Question: Is it possible to add some sort of drop down menu which shows the spells currently in the character's spellbook for "click and buy" - instead of having to type the exact name of the spell? (I know, I am lazy ... )

1.1.13

acapela: I've added a new monitor type for "temporary" weapon enchants (shaman weapon buffs, rogue poisons, etc). It currently only checks that there's something there, it can't monitor a specific buff/poison (getting at the name is icky, I don't want to ).

Warlocomotif: The new macro cooldown monitor type should solve this - make a macro with the two /use commands in it, then monitor that macro.

Ashamam I want to add some form of secure handler support to the group frames, which I think would handle what you want. It won't show up for a while though, and probably only in the wotlk version since Blizzard are making major changes to how it works.

any chance of getting shaman weapon buffs tracked (windfury weapon, rockbiter weapon, and etc)? i guess to be "fully featureful", being able to track these things by main-hand/off-hand separately... well, it would at least be "complete" even if i can't think of any reason why it would be useful :-).

thanks for the mod. i will continue to play with it.
