AddonSwitcher

Version: 40000.2
by: Drauer [More]

Addon Switcher is a small and simple tool to enable and disable your addons quickly. I made it for my toon to make custom (like "raid", "grind" and "pvp") addon profiles.

Sample use:
1) Make sure you have enabled/disabled all addons for current profile (eg. disabled Gatherer and Auctioneer and you are making raid profile).
2) Type /addonswitcher save raid. This will save your new profile with "raid" name.
3) Enable/Disable different set of addons and make different profile - eg. /addonswitcher save pvp.
4) You can quickly switch between profiles with /addonswitcher switch raid and /addonswitcher switch pvp commands. If you don't like auto-reload feature, just use /addonswitcher load raid and /addonswitcher load pvp instead.
5) You can list available profiles with /addonswitcher list command.
6) You can use /addonswitcher delete to delete a profile.

You can use "/as" instead of "/addonswitcher".

Ampere support:
Ampere addon management tool is supported:
1) /ampere and /amp options can be used to access Ampere config screen.
2) New buttons on Ampere screen to support Addon Switcher:
[LOAD] [SAVE] [RELOAD UI]

Doesn't seem to save anything.. I can use /as list to get a list of profiles but after a reload the list is empty...

I think that is because you refer to asDB in your toc, but refer to sapDB in your lua file.

Yeah, true; thanks for noticing. I changed addon's name from beta to release and forgot to change saved variable's name.

Fixed.

Works perfectly other than not being able to delete a profile once you have created it. This is one feature I would like to see added. But is still a wonderful addition to ACP(addon control panel). The two work together flawlessly.

Can I use this addon to save the addon profile as I have them right now? Or would I have to make a new profile like I have to for a smiliar addon called Reflux. Same addon concept except with Reflux you have to create a blank canvas then save it. However if you install a new addon, you need to make a whole new Reflux profile.

Looking forward to testing it out when I get the time.

Given this a quick test and it seems very good. Will try to test further when I get some free time (work sucks big time at the moment ). Anyway, a couple of questions as I may have been missing the obvious with my quick test.

First, is there a way to update a saved profile when you change addons? Hmmm... that's got me wondering what happens if you try to load a profile with one of the addons no longer there? Must try it out sometime to see.

Secondly, is there a way to make the profiles character specific? I have one of each class and a number of these use class specific addons that I would obviously want loaded with them, but not with others. From what I can see the only way to do it would be to save a separate profile for each with their name/class as part of the profile name which would end up with a very long list.

Auto Loading Profiles

the ultimate feature to have in this imo would be an option to auto load profiles when you join or leave a raid or party, or when you enter an instance. Not sure if that's possible though; I know ziltch about lua.

Yes, it could be possible, but you would need a manual reload also, so I won't do automatic profile switch, sorry mate

Just use /as reload <profile> command.

Carbonite

I know Carbonite gives you a popup when settings require a /reloadui. Again, not sure if that's a possibility here, and that also may not be what you're going for (oh yay, popups in wow!) but thought I'd mention it.

Thanks 4 that great addon!
I switch many between my addons, cause of raids, pvp, 5er hero and staying in dala :P
I love it !

/edit: Is it possible, that you combine ampere with this addon?
So i mean... that we can mark a profile and enter reload.
Atm i have macros, cause i'm very lazy ... :>
Or a small stand standalone menu ?
That would make this addon perfect!

What do you mean? You can now create macro with "/as reload pvp" and put it on your action bar.

On the other hand maybe I'll add menu for Data Broker sometime in future - with all profiles, but I'm trying to make my addons small & lightweight.

Wow, I completely see both sides of this request. However, Drauer does have a point: ampere and Addonswitcher are meant for each other. Finding a way to integrate the two would be a boon. Not necessarily for power users, but for the rest of us you have to support on these forums. My idea would be working a simple "Save Current List as Addonswitcher Profile" in Ampere. Textbox, Save button, done. Of course, this is a modification of Tekkub's code, not yours.

Maybe a simple macro maker for the non-scripty? /as macro <profile> I would default all macros to character specific.

However, these are just feature requests to be addressed after you are *completely* happy with the core function of Addonswitcher. If you can whittle the core down, do that first. Do what Microsoft doesn't.

New version is out, now you can use spaces in profile names.

I'm working on Ampere-injection (special stand-alone micro addon) in my free time. It will be implemented in future version
