Quecho  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 7.1.0.20-Beta
by: Tekkub [More]

Quecho is a simple addon design with leveling duos in mind. It helps you keep track of your partner's quest progress.

Both players must run Quecho for it to work. Players in your party not running Quecho will not be bothered with your quest info.

Quecho was written because I never level solo. I got sick of constantly asking my leveling partner if he had his quest items, or him missing when I accepted a quest and not grabbing it himself. Quecho provides a few basic features:

  • Chatframe notifications when your partner accepts, turns in, or abandons a quest
  • A second "quest watch" frame that shows your partner's progress on curent quest objectives next to the default quest watch frame
  • Automatic exchange of "Quest item: 2/200" messages as quests are completed
There is no config, if enabled Quecho will send addon messages, and display any it receives. Messages have a 5 minute timeout, and are automatically removed after that expires.

Not working with 5.0.4

Users beware. Not currently working with 5.0.4. Symptoms include a LUA error and a non-functioning Objective tracking frame.

A defect report exists in GitHub.

Confirming this, I couldn't get any quest or achievement objectives to show up in 3.3.3 and kept getting an error in FrameXML\WatchFrame.lua until I disabled Quecho. Sadpanda

Well, shucks, thank you Quee for saying that! You probably have hit on why we couldn't see the Quecho frame. Nobody ever explained that it is attached to the Blizzard quest watch frame. The AddOn description DOES say "A second "quest watch" frame ... next to the default quest watch frame", but even if I understood that to mean that it needs the quest watch frame displayed to be seen, to me the default quest watch frame is and has long been QuestGuru Tracker. When I asked about why we weren't seeing the Quecho frame the only answer I got before now was "It just works, assuming everyone has installed it correctly and it is loaded.".

Apparently it DOESN'T "work with other addons", Quee. I'll confirm later today that it works with QuestGuru Tracker disabled. But, darn it! that will only confirm that we can't use Quecho because we (my group) dislike especially the newest Blizzard quest watcher and we REALLY like QuestGuru Tracker.

Thank you so much for your assistance!

Hy Tekkub,

dont know wether you read the comments, if yes i want say you are one of the best addon author for me (togehter with zork).

Ive seen a lot and there are a few addon creators who i think they are the best, because they write clean, the addons always do what i want and they are mostly up to date.

So thank you!

Sorry for bad english and have a nice day

Smile QuestWatchFrame

Opening up Tracker.lua and changing 'QuestWatchFrame' to 'WatchFrame' has cleared that error for me (or so I think, not been questing with my partner since 3.1 but the error isn't showing on log in).

And an overdue note saying thank you Tekkub for such a nicely helpful but quiet addon!
