Rejoice!

This is the long awaited expansion to EngBags, which works with 2.0. Yay!

In addition to the auto-sorting you've come to know and love, I've added many new features, including searching for items (in mail, etc.) You can also see and use the original default UI bags, which have slots free overlaid on top of them. There are also many convenience features, like highlighting new items, colored spotlighting, and purchase bank bags without having to unload the addon. A visual edit mode allows you to rearrange categories to your taste, and an advanced customization window enables you to completely configure every aspect of TBag.

Getting Started

TBag can only "see" something you've seen, so for every character:

1) Open your bags
2) Go to the bank
3) Check your mail
4) View your body
5) Open all your trade windows

This allows you to view the bag and bank contents of your characters at any time (sorted according to their trade skills) by clicking the name dropdown in the upper right. It also enables you to do a full item search from the search textbox just to the left of the name dropdown.

Update! Looks like the bank frame is not set up to handle the new bank slot, there are now 7 totali believe? Not sure if that is the problem, but my bank is showing up empty. I will try to troubleshoot it.

Nope, a reloadui seems to have fixed it 8-)

Looks awesome too by the way, this was always the best bag mod.

Just one question for you: Is this set up to update every time the bag inventory changes? If so it causes a lot of slowdowns for ppl who use ammo in combat. I used to modify my EngBags to only update when they were opened, and that seemed to remedy the situation.

Great mod, trying it out now, I noticed when I close the bag using the bag icon, it brings up the old Wow bags, how can I stop this?

It works!

So far this is only bag mod that currently shows all the tooltips for items in bags and allows the rightclick use from bag with cool features to enjoy in a bag mod. ( For me anyways)

My run down of bagmods since 2.0:
  • VBagnon - Cool features, but tooltips buggy.
  • Onebag - Tooltips don't always show either.
  • EngInventory - Tooltips,Custom sorting, yes, but right clicking to use doesn't
  • Tbag - Cool features like Vbag and sorting like Eng, but with tooltips and rightclicking to use.

I enjoy the search feature box, but is that feature preventing the toggle bag open/close with keybind "B"? I would really like to be able to just toggle my bag open and shut with a single keybind. Using my cursor to click the "X" to shut works but annoying after awhile. Other than that, I am using this one for now.

I will keep looking for updates!

This is awesome!

Really hate to resort to such a cheezie word...but dang! If you have a serious OCD complex like me and like to sort and organize or just dig niftiness at all....this is the bag period. I love the highlighting of certain bags! It makes it soooo easy to find that one item preventing a bag swap or what ever! I still use Mr. Plow,too...just to condense bag space because I know it is there, lol. I actually have a completely empty bag now and yet all my goods are sorted filed away! I love this!

EngInventory was my favorite mod ever, reducing time i spent looking for things, counting things, and sorting things to almost zero. So I'm very happy to see that someone has picked up this project.

I found a few bugs, but nothing that's stopping me from enjoying the mod and feeling the tremendous relief of not rummaging through bags or worrying that i set up a filter wrong in a competing mod that offers views into your inventory via 'filters' but makes it difficult to see the whole picture.

In the interest of moving this mod from 'totally awesome' to 'totally incredibly awesome', I will list the bugs and issues that I've found.

- In edit mode, mousing over an item will highlight items in the same category, but it does not say what that category actually is. In Enginventory this didnt matter because you could move that category by left clicking ANY item in edit mode, but here I need to pick that category from a right-click menu in order to move it.
Suggestion: In edit mode and on mouse-over, show what category the item is a part of.

- The 'size' option on the right click menu does not have its setting remembered between login sessions.
Suggestion: Remove the pull-out menu for this setting since the option is available under 'advanced options' anyway, and this setting is remembered properly.

- The vertical spacing between item blocks, such as between Block 28 and Block 32 above it, is hard to expand. At first this doesnt seem like a big deal, but the problem that arises is that it can be hard to tell the difference between 2 item blocks separated vertically. The best work around I found is to crank 'frame spacing - pool' all the way up to five. Note that I am talking about the distances between different item blocks (for example, 28 and 32) and NOT the vertical distance between two items within the same block.
Suggestion: Increase the maximum vertical space that is achieved when adjusting this setting (multiply the existing value by 3-4). Alternatively, allow the vertical pool spacing and the horizontal pool spacing to be adjusted separately (this might be more difficult).

- I feel stupid mentioning this, but alt-click when using Igor's Mass Auction seems to be broken. This was not a problem with the old EngInventory so i am assuming it is possible to make them work together. I am mentioning it so that maybe a fan of TBag that also uses IMA can suggest a change for either mod, and I realize there might not necessarily be anything wrong with TBag OR IMA. I like IMA a lot but I really -need- to use TBag.

This mod rocks! I missed my EngInv, and this is even better!

But one small issue...

While pressing "B" brings up TBag as expected, pressing "B" again does not, as I would expect, close TBag, but opens the standard backpack.

I hesitate to say this is a "bug" as nothing's technically broken, but if there's a way to at least configure TBag to close on a "B", that would be great!

Bug found

There still seems to be a problem with the way the new bank slots are handled. If i purchase the seventh slot, i believe it is, from the bank, and i put a bag in it, the mod gets confused on which bag to open, and opens the 6th one instead, and the bag highlighting is broken as well for that 7th bag. Having the same problem on both of my toons with the seventh bank slot

I noticed this myself last night too. It is TBag's doing. It has specific code for alt+clicking at the mail window, and it checks to see if you had CT_MailMod installed and will play nice with that mod, but not any others (such as GMail, which I use). The (easy) fix is just to disable the alt+clicking code when at the mailbox frame. You can do this by just commenting out lines 4144-4172 (in the latest release - sorry there's no version number to give you exact version). Basically it's almost at the very end of TBag.lua. Make it look like so:

Ha! I went through almost the same progression. Except I started with TBag, was just put off by the somewhat complex display and config details (which I've never needed to touch anyway, heh). But, after shopping around all the other mods, I came right back to TBag - it really is an awesome inv management.

Actually, truth be told, I am using TBag *AND* vBagnon. TBag pops up when I hit 'B' and is my main bag management, but I've found some issues here and there (such as the previously mentioned alt+click mail issue) that makes it nice to have a good secondary bag management (just can't stand Blizz bags anymore!). They actually play fairly nice together. Especially since vBagnon has the quick filters at the top so it's a minimalist bag display for those times when I do need it.

As to the hitting the 'B' for TBag to pop up, this works fine for me. If I hit 'B' again with TBag up, it's default behavior is to bring up the underlying bags (such as your Blizz bags), which in my case is vBagnon. I like that. However, if you don't, just re-bind your 'B' key to TBag's open/close and you won't have that problem. I have mine bound to the 'I' key, and in fact I think TBag binds itself to that key by default, so you might try hitting it and see what it does. If not, just use the TBag key binds and you make it do whatever you like whenever you hit 'B' or any other key you like.

Oh and one last thing for you inventory management freaks like me - the 'Possessions' mod works much like TBag's built-in search feature, except it has it's own search/results window rather than just dumping the results to your chat screen. That way instead of just knowing that item I'm looking for is on one of my alts (which TBag can tell me), I can actually hover over it to see it's stats and link it to my guildies or whatever.

Not sure what I've done wrong but my bank bags are not showing at all. I just get the bar with the buttons but no bags/items

help?

Edit: It does this on every character that has bought 7 bag slots with 7 bags... sad panda

Is it possible...

To be able to make custom catagories? In my bank I have several resistance sets and it is a pain to have to search thru every single item praying that I wont miss a needed item for the instance my guild is currently doing.

Or am I missing something that will allow me to do this myself? I am no modder but if i know where and what to tweak i can do so.

i found this at curse posted by Talos:

Add a new category called ARMOR_NATURE (say), with a text search of "Nature Resistance" and "Armor" as the type. Then, move it before all the EQUIPPED_BLAH stuff in the item search list in the advanced category screen. Reload the ui, and you'll get a message saying "ARMOR_NATURE" has been assigned to bar 1. Go into edit mode and move the category where you want. Voila! It will now put any armor with Nature Resistance into that spot for you.
