This specification will allow the Crimson Editor application to color code Lua keywords as well as Blizzard keywords for addon scripting.

This is an adaptation of the Lua specifications that come with Crimson Editor to include Blizzard keywords, all credit for the Lua portions of this specification should be given to the authors listed in the specification files.

  • Download and install Crimson Editor
  • Extract the specification files to the Crimson Editor spec folder
  • In Crimson Editor, choose Document -> Syntax Type -> Customize
  • Choose a Syntax Type Slot labled -Empty-
  • Type a description and choose the wowlua.spc and wowlua.key files

When opening a addon script, choose Document -> Syntax Type and choose the WoW entry.

Just came across this plug in today, loaded it per directions and even changed the line provided by ZeroFire, but when I go to Document > Syntax Type > WoW_Lua (thats what i named it), it just makes all the text black, like it doesnt recognize any syntax. Any suggestions?

Using: 'Crimson Editor 3.70 Release'

This is realy nice. Thanks for sharing!

And i found a bug that the end of block comment is wrong.

in file "wowlua.spc", line 16

should be

otherwise if i write comments in this format:

some comments here

then the editor will consider that the comment not ends until the EOF.
