Bladeless Overwatch UI

Version: v1.2
by: blitz814 [More]

Bladeless Overwatch UI uses ElvUI as the backbone and is required for the UI to work. This UI uses a lot of custom textures and Weak Auras, so it can be resource intensive at times. I play at 1440p, however there should be no issues at 1080p (scaling may or may not be needed). This is still an early build and may require some tweaking. Please let me know if you see anything out of place or if something could be done better.

Important! -- Basicminimap has a modded texture created by Birg called circle.tga. It is imperative that you make a copy of this and place it somewhere for safe keeping. Anytime Basicminimap is updated circle.tga will needed to be overwritten by the copy! Otherwise it will default back to a circle.

Basic Instrustions
#1 - Open the zip and move the Interface and WTF folders into your wow RETAIL directory.
#2 - Download Elvui [Shadow and Light is used but entirely optional, only used for reskinning certain interfaces] and place it into the addons folder
#3 - Rename the appropriate folders [ACCOUNTNAMEHERE > SERVERNAMEHERE > CHARACTERNAMEHERE] in the WTF folder and start up WoW
#4 - Continue through ElvUI & SnL [if installed] process
#5 - Select Plater
#6 - /cdtg -> profile -> Default
#7 - Select Cog on Details Damage Meter Header -> Profile -> Default
#8 - Esc -> ElvUI -> Profiles -> Default
#9 - Esc -> ElvUI -> Buffs and Debuffs -> Uncheck Debuffs at the top
#10 - Esc -> ElvUI -> Maps -> Minimap -> Uncheck Enable
#11 - /decursive -> Change existing profile to either Default or No Decurse, depending on your ability to dispel or not.
-This will either show or remove microunits, Can Alt+drag the microunits to preferred location.
#12 - Type " /raven " -> Profiles -> Default

That should be all for the setup.

Feedback and suggestions are certainly welcome. Please stop buy the comments and let me know your experience! Thank you!

v1.1 - Added missing party frame texture!

Mine is working, basically just download all the addons listed but do the WTF folder changes, change profiles accordingly, don't forget the minimap tga thing.

Pet weak aura

IS the pet weak aura supposed to be slanted like this?

https://imgur.com/a/QF8IEiZ

If so then is there a way i can make it straight like the player frame? It looks beautiful btw and am enjoying it! Thank you.

Re: Minor Bugs

It is possible to have the weakauras lock onto to specific assets (so it would adjust with screen size), but I'm not so savvy to do that for the whole UI. I'm not sure about having weak auras scale automatically with resolution though.

I noticed those textures were accidentally removed during the pruning (wowinterface has a limit on download size! Some textures and RaiderIO had to go!) - it's located in "addons\SharedMedia_MyMedia\Overwatch\skull.tga" if you want to pluck it from the new file. They were all added back in the recent update! Sorry about that!

I'm going to work on the pet bar soon. It's still using the original textures I was going to use on the player bar. I will probably add an updated file in the next day or two, but I'll also add the weak aura string since it will not be using assets that aren't already present. Easier for people to update a single weak aura than redownload the whole thing.

I really appreciate the feedback! Keep it up, it really helps me out.

Other minor issues I have noticed while using this UI:

* Missing Texture for Elite Mobs on Target Weakaura (showing up as a green square, similar to the missing party textures).
* Pet health bar is slightly diagonal (or at least just off of the same axis as the player health bar).

I'll keep testing and commenting if I find more areas to tweak, but I am very much liking the QoL!!

Really well done

Re: Great UI

Looks like you are using an ultra wide screen, which I am not.

For the player frames, you can shift those weak auras over by selecting the ''[Framework] - Player 1'' and moving the whole unit at one time.

The stealth frames you select one and you can stretch it as needed, top and bottom.

Minimap and zone are the same process as the player frame.

As you can see, there are a couple of UI elements that don't scale well in ultrawide resolutions. I personally run in 3440x1440, and some of the stuff around the edges is too close to the center of the screen. So far, I've noticed that this includes:
  • Player Unit Frame/Buffs
  • Minimap/Zone Label
  • Rogue "Stealthed" Weakaura

To help fix, do you know where/how I could adjust the anchor points for these?

EDIT: I was able to solve most of my issues by going into the various weakauras, and adjusting the "X Offset" (in the "Group" settings) for the respective auras. I also had to manually adjust the buff bar and chat anchors in the ElvUI setup.

UI Elements Not in the Correct Place

Hi there,

Found your UI on Reddit and I absolutely LOVED IT. I gave it an install this afternoon and I've tweaked the elements that I know how to (I like seeing my action bars, etc.). I'm a novice to custom UI, really only using ElvUI.

I'm running into the same issue at @Snackshazam, with the UI elements not in the correct place. I am running in 2560x1440 resolution. What would be the easiest way to adjust these to move them into the correct location?

Cheers!
