Throughout vanilla and TBC classic i have been enjoying the look of the atlas world map, which replaces the standard map textures with minimap data.
I was sad to find out that a version for WOTLK did not exist, so i decided to make my own from what was available online.
A version for patch 7.0.3 has been made by one of the authors of the Atlas addon, which contained most of the Northrend minimap data.
I then made the following changes:
- Moved dalaran to Northrend (was moved to tomb of sargeras for Legion)
- Added a zoomed in Dalaran Map
- Fixed Sholazar basin map
- Updated the Eastern Plaguelands map (was using post-cata minimap data)
- Added the DK starting zone and start scenario
- Fixed exploration patches in badlands, loch modan and blasted land
- Added a zoomed out map of Northrend
To install, place the WorldMap folder in your interface folder of your wow installation, so the structure becomes this:
World of Warcraft/_classic_/Interface/WorldMap
Obviously the Northrend maps can only be viewed with beta access at the moment, but the addon works for both TBC and WOTLK classic if you want to start using it now
