Aiue's Quest Tracker  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.2.2
by: Aiue [More]

AQT (pronounced a-cutie) aims to be a highly configurable quest objective tracker. Take not that it is neither a guide nor a helper addon, and there are no plans to turn it into one.

Functionality includes, but is not limited to:

  • Show a list of all the quests in your log, and their status, or:
    • A list of manually selected quests
    • A list of automatically tracked quests, depending on configuration
  • Fully configurable progress-based progressive color, pick any color scheme you want!
  • Optionally show quest tags/levels.
  • Configurable sorting, pick any number of sorting rules from the ones available, and rank them.
  • Sounds, if you're into that kind of thing. I am. Defaults to faction-based sounds, but can be reconfigured. Makes use of LibSharedMedia.
  • Direct quest updates via LibSink, and optionally suppress the standard errorframe update.
  • Support for quest timers! Yes, this is rare.
  • And plenty more. Features are being continuously added, but right now the main focus is polishing.

Please use the Issue Tracker on GitHub for bug reports or feature requests. Also a good place to go if you want to get an idea of what my current future plans include.

There is also a discord. Can't say there's much of interest there. But it's there, in case you'd for whatever reason want to head there.

I do plan on eventually making a retail version, but as it means making the addon fully modular (which, to be fair, would only require minor tweaking), adding support for achievements, story type quests, instance objectives, and more, that's still quite a far way off.

Translators wanted! Let me know if you want to contribute with translations!

Aiue's Quest Tracker
1.2.2 (2021-05-25)
Full Changelog
  • No longer being bad at extremely basic math. (Finally closes #84)
  • Ugly hack solution to attempt to properly set backdrop alpha after a delay. (#86)
  • Create timers with backdrop template. (#87)

I did consider profiles, but opted out, as options are generally down to personal preference, which wouldn't change with different characters. But I might consider adding profiles later on. I'll take a look at adding a reset button in the meanwhile, but it will not be my highest priority at the moment.

In the meanwhile,
Code:
/script AQTCFG = nil
followed by reloading your interface should do the trick. Or just
Code:
/script AQTCFG.global = nil
if you want to retain data on which quests you have manually tracked/untracked.
Thank you, and such a fast response too!!

IDEA: add a Scale slider in addition to the current min/max width/height
IDEA: include font accidental presidency and maybe a few other sounds to choose from?

Can you add

Can you add a profile section?
Or at least one that resets it to default?
I tried deleting saved variables via the twitch addon installer and of course that didn't work.

As a feature request I think "Post To Party" would be a neat option to have as a click modifier. If you click a quest title it links the quest level and title in chat, if you click a quest objective it posts how many of that item you have completed to the party.

Thanks! You Rock!
Oh my, looks like I managed to miss this message for a few days. I've already added the "Send to Chat" function since then. There's also the "Announce Progress" one, but I could certainly add one for single objectives as well.

I'll add it to the issue tracker post for click-commands.

Certainly. I can't currently give a timeframe estimate for this, however, as:
a) I have a few other planned changes that currently have priority.
b) It would be dependent on other planned changes I have not had the time to implement yet.
Manual tracking is in! Which means I will soon be looking at automatic tracking options. So with that in mind, the way I'm going to implement this is by adding the option to automatically track quests whose header matches the current zone (and untrack them again when you leave the zone).

And manually tracked/untracked quests will never be triggered by automation. At least not according to my current plans, but I might look for a way to implement a nice way to "reset" the override on them.

Just stopping by again to mention that I am now close to the point where I would feel comfortable moving it out of the current prerelease state and having a proper release version.

The latest GitHub version seems promising. With a few more tweaks, and some time to catch any stray glitchy behaviour, it shouldn't be more than a few days. That is, unless a murloc eats my work.

The latest version on there might be very glitchy, though. Although I think I have worked out most of the mistakes after I rewrote big chunks. Which means I should just have a few more tweaks before I am ready to submit another release here. Right now it's mainly about adding configuration options for sorting, and making sure the config options that are currently there apply right away.

Only asking because it covers the UI for equipment, and I keep forgetting stuff that is broken haha. If not all good, I'll probably use this addon forever at this point!
The GitHub version currently has some configuration (accessible with /aqt for now). It's just not quite in a state where I feel comfortable releasing it here. Some of the configuration options do nothing yet, some may behave strangely, and some would require a reload to take effect. I aim to complete those things before uploading another release here.

Background/border/size is fully configurable right now, at least. Just not sure it's entirely glitch free.
I just saw this comment this morning. I installed the new files from Github and the customizations you listed are working perfectly. Thank you so much!
