ChatLoot  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.6.1
by: BagofMeat [More]

Dock Blizzard's new Loot History window into the chat box under it's own tab called "Loot History".

Features
- Chat tab can be renamed and is remembered per character
- Slash commands. [/loot or /chatloot to switch to docked tab. /loot help or /loot ? to list all available options.]
- Tab flashing alert is used to show new loot info is available. [/loot alert to toggle]
- Tooltips can be shown on hovering or clicking on the loot. [/loot tooltip to toggle]
- Reset command to return loot window to default size and function. [/loot reset to activate.]
- Adjustable delay timer to delay loading of addon. [/loot delay <0-20> to set]

To display properly for Aurora, FreeUI and TukUI: Download and install the plugin here.
For ElvUI it should work fine if you just add a short load delay using the appropriate slash command listed above.

1.6.1
- Updated .toc to 60100

1.5
- Updated .toc file
- Added adjustable load delay. Can be set from 0 to 20 seconds.
- Bits of clean up that I don't exactly remember since it was weeks ago.

1.4
- Hopefully fixes the multiple tabs being created occasionally on startup

1.3
- Moved tab name to a per character variable to fix a multiple character tab naming bug
- Expanded reset to restore hidden graphics and bring the default window closer to its normal function
- More clean up

1.2
- Various tweaks and cleanup
- "/loot tooltip" toggles between hovering and clicking to show tooltips

1.1
- Updated .toc file
- Added support for renaming tab
- Added tab flashing for when new loot info is available but tab isn't visible
- "/loot" and "/chatloot" commands added
- "/loot" now changes to the ChatLoot tab if it isn't already selected
- "/loot alert" toggles tab flashing
- "/loot reset" sets the frame back to the default size if you want to disable the addon
- "/loot help" lists the above slash commandsands

To answer myself...

It's gone moribund, the author hasn't been on here since 2016 (and the addon hasn't been updated since 2015 on curse, either). Anyone willing to take it up? I don't know if it needs anything, haven't been in a dungeon in a while.

Will this be updated for Legion?

Or has it gone completely moribund? I haven't been doing anything (like dungeon running) that needs it, so I don't know if it works.

Thanks!

Works perfectly fine for me, with Prat.

Are you using a chat addon and is it updated?

Maybe try to completely remove ChatLoot (including the WTF files), start wow to refresh the chat window settings, exit and reinstall ChatLoot.

5.2 update?

I realize this addon still works, but it would be nice to get a TOC update when necessary to let those of us that use it know that it is still being maintained.

Thumbs up Awesome

This is one of the addons I recommend to people who don't really use addons, simply because it's so common sense and useful.

Thank you!

Ok I updated the addon. TukUI's fix was bundled into the Aurora plugin while ElvUI is handled with the load delay feature added in 1.5.

hey Bago, just passing by to let you know that the same thing that Aurora was doing to chatloot causing the black box to appear, when you use this in ElvUI or TukUI it appears as well.

Ya unfortunately I've run out of ideas. You could try "/run ChatLoot:LoadFrame()" to force the loading function but it still has checks built into it so if that's been running and failing I'm not sure what else to do. If that does work though then maybe it still needs a delay built into the loading phase.

Unfortunately no, there is just no way to do what you did to fix it for me. The Loot History tab is not there, at all. The addon itself loads in the background of course, but never creates the tab. There doesn't seem to be a fix as of yet, even the author doesn't know what's going on. But thanks for trying. There is nothing more I can do or say to elaborate on the situation, it just doesn't do what it's suppose to 'anymore'. It use to work, but just randomly stopped. Even if I were to install it without any other addons, it doesn't fix it. It just plainly and simply, doesn't do 'anything' anymore, except load in the background.

Hopefully this was able to help you both out some.

I will try that script later tonight, when Blizzard finally ends their maintenance period and see what happens.

Yes, I'm aware that it goes into Interface/AddOns, I was simply talking about the folders used in most AddOns, in general... I was making a point that my addon doesn't go in any of the typical folders that most addons do.

EDIT: Okay, I tried the script, it said "Loot History" in the chat, but there is no tab for it, anywhere.

Should be "Loot History" which if the addon is being loaded at all it will show that.

Edit: You should be putting the ChatLoot folder into Interface/AddOns and not Interface/WTF.

No, my addon isn't able to conflict with any other addons. My addon is the only addon on the website that doesn't get installed into the Interface/WTF folders to function. It creates its own folder for shaders, it's a graphic enhancement addon.

I don't know what happened. Installing it by itself, with a fresh/clean Interface/WTF folders, it still won't work anymore. It's as if it just grew a mind of it's own and decided to tell me 'no'. LOL

Just trying to narrow down where the conflict is or if it's something to do with your computer, wow install, etc.
