Plater Nameplates  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v8.2.5.278
by: Tercioo [More]

Plater is a handsome and light addon for nameplates!

Plater and Details! are made by the same author!

Features:
- New nameplates for friendly characters.
- Unlock configs to modify the new personal health bar/power bar in the middle of the screen.
- Allows to change the size of the resource indicators such as the runes for Death Knights.
- Indicates when a npc is an objetive of a quest.
- Highlight detector npcs inside Suramar city.
- Color change by aggro and by player role (tank or dps).
- Dynamic sizing allowing to have two sets of size, one for combat and other out of combat.
- Allows full modification of textures.
- Allows to modify the clickable area of the plate.
- Unlock separate config for each type of unit: Friendly Player, Enemy Player, Friendly Npc, Enemy Npc.
- Show your buffs and debuffs, allowing to black list some of them.

Important: by default the health bar of enemy nameplates has a height 2 pixel when out of combat, but do not be fooled by that, each nameplate has by default 45 pixels of clickable area (vertical) and both the health bar and the clickable area can be modified.

The "hostile npc" below the quest color is a typo, it should be "friendly npc" instead.
Now it makes sense. I was looking for quest coloring in the enemy npc for some reason that makes no sense. Thanks for renaming that pulling color, it makes much more sense as high threat.

I really am not trying to be annoying with reporting so many bugs/enhancements, I promise!

Edit: had to add in that training dummies names/plates in my class hall (hunter) are not showing up for me with plater enabled. They show up in pandaria and major cities (stormwind). Default nameplates show the nameplates for training dummies but plater doesn't show the name and /or nameplate.

Enemy npc settings. Quest color. When changing the color for hostile NPC, text spam like shown below happens when changing around the color

On a happy note so I don't always sound like I am critical, the changes to friendly npc names without nameplates is looking really good. I love the option to adjust the font on the "profession text"

Please include the version number in the .toc file so we don't have to start the game everytime we need to know what version is installed.

I'm trying to fix the dummies issue, next version should come with a band-aid.
Those numbers on chat also got fixed.

This issue will be a little complicated to solve, do you remember which demon invasion and in which phase it was? also the map location where you were at the bug moment might help as well.
I need to reproduce the problem at my end to apply a fix.

This could be a blizzard bug. I think it was an issue on their end but keep this around just in case it is not. The invasion server is removed so I can't test again. It was in tanaan on the next to last phase.

Thanks
clicking on those big circles with an image brings more options for a specific type (friendly npc or friendly player).
If you don't find the option you want, tell in details which you wanna change so we can implement the feature.

Re: Re: Colors

Well currently I haven't pvped yet so I don't know if it matters

It seems like there are no options to just set one color for allies and then have the enemies have different colors based on class. Seems like it's all or nothing. I am not sure if something happens to make it obvious but will let you know as usually in pvp its betterto have a uniform color ofr all friendly.

Re: Re: Re: Colors

I forgot to ask. Is there a way to add more debuffs? and can you put in an option for friendly heals over time, etc. Like for a monk it would be great if it would track all debuffs like disable and dizzying kicks right now it seems to only track mortal wounds.

Any type of customizing allowed ?

Try the latest version (v1.12), it should work as you wish.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Colors

It looks great

Anyway to set up other buffs not of my own to be tracked. (Like hots on enemies)

Also a way to change the width/height of individual buffs/debuffs

And right now it seems like it just has the timer as a swirl out anyway to add some text timer on the buffs on the frames ?

But thanks so much for what you did so far

Only thing I see is that plate order is confusing even with the tooltip saying "bottom to top". Basically you have to do the opposite of what the order would read to someone not seeing that tooltip.

Not a big thing at all but it confused me until I saw that tooltip.

By the way, the tooltips aren't the same for each section (frinedly player says "which order plates should go above and below")

Edit: one more on personal health and mana bars, setting the y offset for the health percent text when the anchor is set to left does nothing.

Other than that I really am loving this.
