    Make Guns Sound Like Bows  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

    Some hunters find the gun sounds loud and distracting, this mod replaces the gun sounds with the bow sounds. It only affects how the shooter hears things. There are no lua or XML files, only the audio files (from the original game) which get extracted to different filenames to override the other sounds.

    I like the softer bow sounds, but I'm considering making an alternative mod with the gun sounds modified to be much more quiet. If you're interested in this instead, post a comment.

    yes i would like to see softer gun sounds as i don't want to get rid of them completely with another sound.

    Amazing idea, Add-ons like this are why I come here. That being said I would suggest adding 2 or 3 diffrent sounds to give people options, or else post how the heck you did this so people can create there own sound files (I think I have a BB gun sound somewhere on one of my harddrives)

    Softer gun sounds would be cool, I'm one of the few that dislikes the loud gun sound so I think adding a silencer type sound for the gun would be a nice addition rather than changing it to the bow or removing it all together.

    Could you tell me what is the gun file? I know I have to see inside MPQ and stuff, but I can do the sound thing looks softer.

    EDIT: Nevermind, found it. Working on it.

    Gun sounds in game have made me avoid using guns sometimes even when it would give me better dps.
