Gun Silencer/Suppressor  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v1.0
by: Talizman [More]

There are a few Gun Silencer mods that replace Blizzard's ear deafening default gun sounds, and most of the ones I have found weren't very high quality. So I decided to make my own, with HI-DEF silencer recordings.

Included in this mod is the following:

- 1 Silenced Gun Shot (M4A1 Carbine)

- 3 Unique Reload Sounds

Installation is simple; Extract the .ZIP and copy the extracted files into your World of Warcraft's "DATA" Folder. For example;

\World of Warcraft\Data\

This mod is client side only, and DOES NOT alter any of Blizzard's sound files. It simply overrides the default sounds and plays the mod's sound files instead.

This mod works for guns only, and can be used for other classes as well, as long as you are able to use a gun.

Enjoy.

The sounds from this work on classic, but the folder structure has changed.

I renamed the files from this mod, but used the folder structure from this "addon" on curse:
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addon...iperaudiopack/

Place the Sound folder directly in /World of Warcraft/_classic_

Thanks for the Suggestion, it was driving me crazy trying to find out why it wouldn't work.

I 'updated' this, and by updated I mean converted and uploaded for lazy people.

All credit goes to Talizman, as noted.

WOO! Took a minute to figure out how to fix it (had to change output folder to the WoW correct folder, doesn't automatically do that) but afterwards, back to the nice quiet FOOMP sound instead of BAAAAAAAAAAANG. Thank you!!!

This one: MP3 Converter Simple. Nothing to recommend it except it was the first converter I came across when I looked. Don't forget GunFire01.wav is in two places, too. Not sure if it matters, but I replaced both with the .ogg and I can definitely hear the firing noise.

@VerveMan
While guns and bows are indeed an exception to the rule, mogging a gun to a bow only works for the weapons in your own inventory. This addon takes care of all the guns in Azeroth.

Simple Solution:

You can transmogrify a gun to a bow and get a sound difference that way.

That's right I said transmog.

Ranged weapons are the only thing that don't follow the "like for like" rule, unless they do by following the "ranged" item category vs. the gun or bow category.

Yes, as of the new update Tuesday, 28th February, this has indeed stopped working :(

I hope someone has a quick fix, guessing that Blizzard changed the name of the file in question? HOpe someone can update a fix for this, I hate the annoying rifle sound...

I've also registered just to thank you.

After years with the default gun-sound your Addon is sweet, sweet music to my ears, thank you Sir!
