Threat Plates - Version 9.0

About:
Threat Plates (TPTP for short) is a addon for customizing your nameplates. It offers a high amount of customization and tweaks to how your nameplates react and look. It also offers some unique features that are not available with any other nameplate addon. I've spent a considerable amount of time improving this addon and any comments or concerns about this addon are appreciated. I'm always looking for ways to improve this addon.

Starting with version 8.6.0, Threat Plates now is a standalone addon that no longer requires TidyPlates. Please enable only one of these two nameplate addons, otherwise two overlapping nameplates will be shown for units.
Features:
  • SharedMedia support and many, many, options for name, health, level, and spell text. As well as all of the standard nameplate features such as castbar and icon, elite icons / textures, skull icons / textures, raid marks, and healthbar coloring/alpha/scale.
  • Ace3 profiling.
  • Low memory footprint.
  • Threat system management.
  • Automatic talent detection and role assigning for an easy out of the box setup.
  • Customizable widgets.
  • Customizable totem nameplates.
  • Customizable nameplates for extra customization for specifically named units.
Commands:
  • /tptp - Displays options.
  • /tptptoggle - Toggle Role from one to the other.
  • /tptpdps - Toggles DPS/Healing threat plates.
  • /tptptank - Toggles Tank threat plates.
  • /tptpol - Toggles nameplate overlapping.
  • /tptpverbose - Toggles addon feedback text.
Additional Information:
A considerable amount of information about options and its internal priorities are not gone into details. Most options that are enable or disable based will toggle off options that are no longer changeable once enabled or disabled. If you have any questions about options and what they do, feel free to leave a comment or PM me here for more information.

You mean to be able to disable the stack count just for debuffs, but not for buff/CC auras? For all three, you can disable it already, but not only for one of them.

Regarding you first request. I plan to add a feature to configure the position of aura areas (buffs, debuffs, CCs) independet from each other, so e.g., buffs on the left side of the nameplate, debuffs on the right side and CCs on top. Is that what you want?

I don't understand what you mean with overlap debuffs. Currently, neither buff nor debuff/CC auras should
overlap.

So I got it working somehow. I tried changing the sliders in Threatplates, tried editing the cvars via Advancedinterfaceoptions. Tried a bunch of different nameplates, including default. Nothing worked, no change at all.
I then restored Threatplates and googled a bit more and found a suggestion to set the overlap cvars to something like 0.8 and 0.46 I think it was.
And somehow that worked. It needs a little tweaking but I can finally play the game again
Great, glad that you could get it to work.

To switch between stacking and overlapping either go to the TP options, General - Blizzard Settings and change it there. Or you can to this in Interface - Names. There's also an option to change this setting. You probably have selected overlapping currently, not stacking.
This is what it looks like with stacking enabled on 6 mobs. It's basically unusable.
I can try deleting the settings files and see if that fixes it.

These mobs are stacked but as you can see there is no overlap at all. I can't seem to figure out how to make it happen in BFA.
It doesn't have to be as extreme as that, but if you have some settings that would help me multidotting trashpacks I would be really grateful. Right now there is always a nameplate or two that end up on top of others so I can't keep track very easily.

Different cast bars for friendly/enemy players are not possible at the moment.

By default, the castbar on the target is offset a little bit so that it don't overlap with the target highlight. You can change that under General - Castbar - Placement - Target Offset. Just set X and Y to 0.

I think there is, but you have to play around with CVars. There's a section about that in the FAQ section of Threat Plates, see https://wow.curseforge.com/projects/...oting-and-faq: "I want my (target) nameplate to stick at the top (or bottom) of the screen and not to disapear outside of the screen, especially for huge bosses." - You basically want it the other way around, I think.

You're welcome. It was and is still a lot of fun for me working on Threat Plates. And there's still so much stuff to do

So, welcome back hopefully. We could talk on Discord this weekend (Friday or Saturday). You have a server/channel, I think I remember you saying something like that.
Yep!

I'll send you a DM!
