Wait a minute, I want to see my party chat!
Everyone who's been in a dungeon probably knows the feeling. This text is meaningless, as nobody's going to keep count, and it's flushing your party or guild chat out of the log.

Consolid8 takes these messages and more, filters them, and only shows the important ones. The rest are counted up and summarised in a tooltip, and/or a report that appears when you finish your dungeon. This is how:

Reputation:
Consolid8 counts the reputation that you gain, and displays it in the report. (Note: Consolid8 does not remove the reputation messages from your chat; to remove them, right-click the chat tab and click settings.)
Loot:
When you loot a grey item, Consolid8 adds its vendor value to a total.
Items that you get a lot of, like cloth, Vrykul Bones, etc. are counted up (you can choose these items in the Interface Options).
Money loot is also counted up.
These messages are then hidden from your chat frame. Also, loot messages about other players (except loot rolls and wins) are hidden.
Honor and Experience:
These are also counted.
Crafting:
When you craft more than one item, Consolid8 counts how many you make and how many skill-ups they give you, and only displays two messages. For example:

Your skill in Tailoring has increased to 76.
You create: [Woolen Cape].
Your skill in Tailoring has increased to 77.
You create: [Woolen Cape].

Becomes:

Your skill in Tailoring has increased to 77 (+2).
You create: [Woolen Cape]x2.

A button is added over your chat frame, and optionally on a broker display (you can move or hide it if you like). Hovering over this will show a tooltip with the counts on it. Also, a report is automatically displayed when you leave a dungeon, showing all of your gains from that dungeon.

Slash command: /consolid8
Switches: reset, report, show, hide

1.45 (minor update): Changed the default anchor for the button to make room for the new social button in 3.3.5.

1.4:

Now integrates better with Blizzard loot messages. Upgrading users must re-enable loot messages (Right-click General chat tab > Settings > Other > Check Item Loot).
Added option on report dialog to turn automatic reports on or off. (Upgrading users must re-enable this.)
Changed licence from GNU General Public Licence to Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike Licence.

1.3:

Now consolidates messages from looting, gathering, etc.
Now tracks XP gains.
Changed the report method to a static pop-up, and made it appear automatically when you leave an instance.
Added slash command switches /consolid8 show and /consolid8 hide which show and hide the button respectively.

1.2:

Changed the LDB plug-in from a launcher to a data source.
Made the button movable (Hold down shift and drag) and sizable (Hold down shift and use scroll wheel)
Now tracks honor.

1.1:

Added an LDB (TitanPanel, FuBar, etc.) plug-in with the same behaviour as the normal icon.
Made the normal icon more visible on third-party UIs (Hopefully… Tested on SpartanUI)
Added a slash command as a last resort:
/consolid8 reset, report

Example: I've been digging up artifacts through Archaeology, and then proceeded to kill a mob. When I looted the artifact I had both artifacts and a keystone, but upon looting I only saw the currency created (i.e. the artifacts) printed. The keystone wasn't printed until I had killed the mob and looted him, resulting in a [8]you receive loot: [Orc Blood Text], [Netherweave Cloth]. Might be related to the fact that one of the lootable items isn't loot but listed as currency. Example: I've been soloing Dire Maul to get Knot's tailoring patterns, and when I get a loot window that holds at least one item that binds on pickup I don't get a correct printing. Might be related to the "looting this item will bind it to you" message popping up. Right now I can't think of more examples, especially none of occurances unrelated to currency or BoP items, but should I encounter more then I'll be sure to mention it. __________________ Just remember... if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off.

Nope. I do check the loot when the boss has died, but by the time the rolling is done and the items are being distributed I already trotted to the next trash pack. Or to the Mage to beg for a portal.

I do have my usual settings on auto-loot, if that's of any importance. No specific looting addons installed, just standard Blizzard settings.

It's just the standard MasterLooting system that Raid Leaders use to distribute loot. When you can see the items in the loot window, but only the MasterLooter is able to pick them up and give them to people. Then I won't get a "you won item x" message, only a "you receive item X" message when you're given the item.
Without C8 I get that message the moment I receive the item, but with C8 I get the item, but the message doesn't appear until the next time I loot a mob/container (such as the Mustard Plant in my screenie).

OK, I thought there was potential for that bug

Instead, it waits till my next loot and then prints the won item along with it. Yes, this has been a feature for a while. As I've said above, the latest update fixes a bug with it.

Hi Maelynn,

To move the button, hold down shift and drag the button. (You can also scale it by holding shift and moving the scroll wheel.) I'll look at repositioning in a minute, as 3.3.5 has only just gone live here in the EU.

EDIT: Update with repositioned-button awaiting approval now.

The latest changes now make Consolid8 integrate with Blizzard's messages, so upgrading users will need to re-enable loot messages (see change log). The comments about the old options have been removed from the comments feed. I've also added an option to disable the automatic reporting, which unfortunately is now turned off by default. Handling loot rolls seemed a bit too complex and out of the scope of this mod, so I'm recommending NeedyGreedy for people who want that feature.
