TipTac for Classic (quickfix)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: Classic
by: damagepy [More]

TipTac for Classic (quickfix by DaMaGepy)
Mouseover ToolTip addon, highly configurable what how and where to display in the tooltips. Took a while to fix because the retail verion had a weird bug displaying (not displaying) player data plus guildinfo randomly.

To open config window: /tiptac

I am not the author, I just modified/updated it to work in Classic, if someone else or the author uploads an official/better version then I'll delete this.
I only tested for a while, I think I found/fixed all error but some may still occur, if that happens then pls report them here or ingame (ClassicPvP): Magepy / Gepy

I've added an optional namechange feature (for streamers), read the Z-Perl unitframes description for more info

I haven't experienced it, but I'll keep it torned on and will see if happens for me, so I can fix it. Until then, do not use it

Note that under ItemRef, if you enable the bottom checkbox for "Borderless Icons" that the corners of the icons still have a little bit of visible border. It's not much, but you can get rid of it.

Go to ttItemRef.lua, line #142, where it says tip.ttIcon:SetTexCoord(0.07,0.93,0.07,0.93);
Simply change both 0.07 values to 0.08, and both 0.93 values to 0.92

This forces the icon to zoom in a little bit more, making the borders disappear.
It does slightly cut the edges off the icon a bit more though. It's your choice. Ultimately by cutting the little corners of the borders out, the icons look slightly cleaner when tweaked like this.

Skinning text?
It shows if skinnable and the difficulty... at least it shows for me
It shows for me only when "Enable TipTac Unit Tip Appearance" is unchecked. Maybe it's something wrong with russian localization...

Hi there, first of all I wanted to thank you for your work!
I have a question: could you please make it an option (or tell me what to change in the code since I unfortunately don't know what to look for) to swap the position of guild name and level/race?

Currently the order is as follows:

Name
Level/Race/Class
Guild

And I would like it to be:

Name
Guild
Level/Race/Class
I've added an Option in /tiptac at "Special" to Show Guildname after Level/race/class line, uncheck it to put guildname right after the name. I only tested it with players guildless and with guild... hopefully will work with enemy faction and such too, pls report if gives any error or inserts it wrong.

Yes I've added RealMobHealth support.

But I'm not the original author so I don't really want to add more extra features, I just fixed it for Classic

I would greatly appreciate this since it is how I have played with the addon for 15 years.

Thank you for your work!

Uncommenting it fixes the issue of the tooltip looking wack all the time.
Also uncommenting the block on line 651 for works just fine.
Code:

Edit: Forgot to mention that these changes are in ttCore.lua
Thanks so much for this! It was bothering me too and I was having a heck of a time looking for AddDoubleLine and GameTooltip_AddBlankLineToTooltip calls and stuff, which was not even on the right track. Your fix worked. I hope DaMaGepy adds the fix to this project. Also, of course, I hope Aezay comes back and releases an official update. Now, at least for myself, TipTac is working perfectly in Classic.

OK the solution to make the world frame tips hide instantly was so fucking easy. Hours wasted because I was fumbling around.

I didn't manage to get the offsetting to work, but that really doesn't matter so much for world frame tips as you don't see them all that often and they're quite small so they don't take up much space.

All I did was go into TipTac settings and change the World Tip Type anchor to Normal Anchor. I then went into ttcore.lua and replaced line 916 with tooltip:SetOwner(parent,"ANCHOR_CURSOR")

You could alternatively modify the parent anchor point to be "ANCHOR_CURSOR" instead.

The reason this works is because Blizzard API for anchor_cursor prevents X/Y offsetting, but it does make it so world frame tips hide instantly.

Sadly hip's suggestion has never worked for me. It hides most things instantly like herbs and mailboxes, but not fishing schools, fires etc.

hooksecurefunc("GameTooltip_SetDefaultAnchor", function(tooltip, parent)

how to incorporate this into TipTac and have it respect the anchor settings? I don't know .lua but every time it attaches to the cursor anchor, it ignores tiptac's anchor offsets. Attaching it to anchor_cursor_right works, but then it's offset to the right even with X offset set to 0.
You shouldn't need any of that. Just tested with some bruiseweed I found and it respects all mouse-anchor settings and instant-fade.Just set the "World Tip" type and points to mouse and whatever you want. Adjust the offset in the "Mouse" tab and set the instant-fade for world-objects in the "Fading" tab.
Using 19.03.31.
