Aiue's Quest Tracker  New this week!

Version: 0.5a
by: Aiue [More]

AQT is yet another quest tracker addon. No, not the kind that will tell you where to go or anything. It merely displays your progress on quests you have in your log.

It is currently in very early development, and thus missing a whole lot of planned features, and may well be glitchy. Expect very, very basic functionality to be the only thing present for now.

Things that I plan on adding/fixing soon:

  • Better sorting. Also customizable.
  • Have the buttons actually do something.
  • Indentation.
  • Actual configurability.
  • More. If it's not here, I've simply forgotten about it. I'll surely remember it eventually, though.

Biggest thing I like, and the reason i wanted the addon anyway was that I can track more than 5 quests. It's a QOL change that alters pretty much nothing from the vanilla experience imo.

Few things I have noticed:

1. The quest items can overlap the count on those items when tracked if the items are long in name, so if it's possible to dynamically resize based on objective name, that would be nice.

2. Not sure if the "-" and "+" are supposed to be there in the tracker. I like the look of them, and if you can make them interactive it would be killer.

3. The background on the tracker box is a bit intrusive for me, it's a little less transparent than I would like, and I usually keep profession actionbars and food there, but I have moved them for now. So biggest improvement IMHO to this when you can, is customization, to allow removing or changing the background and border.

So far so good though, I really like this addon, and truly hope you keep working on it and keep it up to date!

All of those are planned to be implemented/configurable! Can't give an exact timeframe, but they're all relatively high on my priority list. Currently working on configuration, after which I'll be taking a look at the frames I use and have them more well-behaved. This would also include proper indentation, as things currently look a bit.. odd. Actual clickable buttons would be the next step after that.
I was rambling and forgot to read the original description haha, that's my bad! Either way loving the addon

As for sorting, I intend to allow for sorting of quest headers matching the name of the current zone. It's a medium priority currently, but it is coming.
Sounds good, hope to give this a proper try after work!

Looks good!

Only thing I'd like is to auto sort by zone.

Thanks for the addon

Alright, there's a new version pending that should have all the packaging set up properly. Meaning I should soon be able to focus on actual code.

LibPrism should be fixed in the latest file.
I've identified why LibSink isn't loading properly and will have it fixed soon.

I see you're going to add configurability later, so Im hoping for either a monochrome option or a way to edit each individual color, to make a monochrome profile.

Colour configuration is indeed something I intend to add. The underlying support structure is already there, mainly it comes down to cobbling together an interface for configuration. It's something I'm going to start working on fairly soon, so as to avoid having to rewrite too much further down the road.

Also, I'll manually upload my latest changes. Haven't managed to get the packager to play nice with WoWI yet.
Could not get this to work last night, tried the fix listed below with no luck, but it could be a compatability issue. I didn't have the foresight to grab the lua error, but I will grab when Im home and post it here for you, or DM you. I could just be doing something wrong as well haha, we'll see!
It's entirely possible I've missed something in packaging, and since I won't notice any such issues on my end, any such reports would be much appreciated!

Re: Breakage

Oh. I may also have accidentally left that one commented out in the .toc

I'm gonna try to get the packager uploading here functional, then a fix for that will be out.

Breakage

Pretty sure this package puts LibPrism in the wrong path. Change the folder LibPrism-3.0 to LibPrism-1.0 to fix it. I have fixed it in the packager, just need to make sure it uploads it here as well.
