What is FauxMazzle?
FauxMazzle is a look and feel tribute to MazzleFizz's once great MazzleUI that sadly didn't make it out of The Burning Crusade... the original Burning Crusade that is.

Open the FauxMazzle Options frame, click "Addons" (make sure AutoBar is a green book, if not, click it) Click the "Defaults" checkbox, select AutoBar, Click the "Reset" button. Reload.
If you log back in and the bar is too big and not quite in the right place, log into another character and run the process again.

I'm not going to fight with AutoBar again, it is the biggest PITA every single update.

As usual, a bunch of addons are not yet updated for Wrath 3.4.1 and you will have to remove them from the Addons folder.

ATM I think the only ones FM include are Autobar, Recount and VendorPrice.

If updates become available, I'll create a new upload.

It certainly works here. If you can open FM using the minibutton, try resetting the chat to defaults by (Prat was updated a few days ago so make sure you have the latest version installed):

Select the Addons option
Check the Defaults box
Chick Chat Groups
Click Reset

The reload.

Chat groups not working properly

Chat does not seem to be working correctly. For instance, everything is going into General, and nothing is going into Guild. When I try and open up FM by typing /fm, I can't even hit enter (very strange).

Hi mathprof,
I would have no idea. I don't do anything with X-Loot other than set the location the loot frames appear at and, I've never used let alone adjusted Weak Auras.

I should be taking a look at FM for the new Wrath PTR some time after the Dragonflight launch so I'll take a look but as I said, I doubt very much it has anything to do with FM.

Icons in loot are too dark

Question: I'm trying to figure out why the icon's in x-loot and my weak aura's will not show up - it's like they are not bright enough. Any thoughts?

If you run the following while in-game:

it should print 3.4.0 469368 Oct 27 2022 30400 to the chat frame. If you get anything else then you're not running the latest version of the WotLK client which would mean FauxMazzle[Wrath] won't work with the version you are running.

[I've just updated the Wrath package so grab the latest (9.3.1) version before doing any of the following...]

Several of the bug reports indicate that something drastic has occured dring the first loading of the package when the default saved variables are installed/configured.

If you make sure you are completely out of the game and go to the folder:
[World of Warcraft]\_classic_\WTF\Account\[your account] (it should folders for each realm you have characters on and various .txt and .wtf files) and rename the SavedVariables folder (eg. SavedVariablesSaved) and then restart and log into the game this should allow FauxMazzle to install everything from scratch.

If this works and FauxMazzle instyalls correctly then and you have other addons beside FauxMazzle you should be able to logout, copy the [addonname].lua file(s) for the non-FM addons from the renamed folder into the new SavedVariables folder and re-start the game.

Looking at it, I see no Unit Frames, not the default Blizzard ones or the frames FauxMazzle sets up using Discord Unit Frames but I do see the default Buff Frame. This would seem that DUF loaded far enough to disable the default frames (except buffs) but died some time before completing initialisation.

If this also happen(s) during the the initial FauxMazzle setup sequence (ie. when logging into the game after renaming/moving the WTF folder) it could have left the FauxMazzle settings file incomplete.

There are 3 different FauxMazzle packages, one for each version of the game. I'm wondering if just possibly, you accidently unloaded the retail (or vanilla) version into the WoTLK Interface\AddOns folder. Trying to configure the retail addons in WotLK would certainly create some havoc.

Maybe re-download the WoTLK version from this page again into an empty Interface\AddOns folder, rename your WTF folder before starting the game and see if that makes any difference.

Before doing that you could also install:
Buggrabber and BugSack.

which is a set of debug addons that might also help (it will put a green(or red if there's errors) sack/backpack minimap button in the game that you can click to get a list of errors if there are any:

Just to make sure, I just downloaded the zip from WoWI and installed it into a cleadn Interface\AddOns folder myself (renamed my WTF folder) and ended up with this right after entering the world (no reload). You can see my character Unit Frame on the left with the buffs (mount icon) just above it.



After reloading, everything was ready-to-go.

I'm finally back with bug reports! I haven't had the time to fuss with it, but I got a moment and grabbed some bugs.

I also found that on the initial load, the player frame did appear, but shrunk to nothing, as the bug grabber played the "fatality!" effect each time it shrunk. The /FM addons tab also does not open.

Could I ask what screen resolution you are running? Open the Game Menu (ESC key) the System button. The Render Scale setting.

Looking at it, I see no Unit Frames, not the default Blizzard ones or the frames FauxMazzle sets up using Discord Unit Frames but I do see the default Buff Frame. This would seem that DUF loaded far enough to disable the default frames (except buffs) but died some time before completing initialisation.

If this also happen(s) during the the initial FauxMazzle setup sequence (ie. when logging into the game after renaming/moving the WTF folder) it could have left the FauxMazzle settings file incomplete.

There are 3 different FauxMazzle packages, one for each version of the game. I'm wondering if just possibly, you accidently unloaded the retail (or vanilla) version into the WoTLK Interface\AddOns folder. Trying to configure the retail addons in WotLK would certainly create some havoc.

Maybe re-download the WoTLK version from this page again into an empty Interface\AddOns folder, rename your WTF folder before starting the game and see if that makes any difference.

Before doing that you could also install:
Buggrabber and BugSack.

which is a set of debug addons that might also help (it will put a green(or red if there's errors) sack/backpack minimap button in the game that you can click to get a list of errors if there are any:

Just to make sure, I just downloaded the zip from WoWI and installed it into a cleadn Interface\AddOns folder myself (renamed my WTF folder) and ended up with this right after entering the world (no reload). You can see my character Unit Frame on the left with the buffs (mount icon) just above it.



After reloading, everything was ready-to-go.
