This addon brings random mount options to dynamic flight mounts ( assuming they will use the isForDragonriding tag returned by C_MountJournal.GetMountInfoByID.

It creates a custom button that holds the next mount to use and gets updated when you dismount.

It keeps track of multiple reasons it won't work and tries to keep on top of it so that the button won't be available if you cannot mount and vice versa.

It also validates in combat situations just in case the pre combat events don't trigger for some reason.

It also has keybinding for those that aren't clickers and this can be set up in the usual Blizzard Options.

The button also is movable so you can place it where you find it beneficial for your game play. It will however hide itself when in combat or in areas where you can't use advanced flying like dragonriding.

When dynamic flight officially comes to Retail ( if what we have now isn't dynamic flight ) I will attempt to make the necessary changes.

NOTE - Who this will work on :
This addon will work with all characters who have dragonriding AKA skyriding capability. In 10.2.7 this means time runners and those who are at least level 60 with skyriding skill available. In 11.0.0 this could be as low as 10 when characters get access to skyriding.
However, I forgot to test what happens when you switch to steady flight. If this causes an issue I will work in an update.

NOTE - Issues found :
I noticed through testing that some indoor areas do not flag up as Indoors during the Zone changing events. The button will be visible but you won't be able to mount.

Re: The War Within / Pre Patch PTR Evaluation

As I was hopping across my copied alts I noticed that my non Dragonflight characters had access to the button which worked with a wider selection of skyriding mounts. I couldn't fly/skyride with them but the button worked with the existing selection of skyriding mounts I had available on my account. So, for now I won't both making changes for the PTR and will wait and see what my real life server counterparts deal with the changes to see what I feel needs changing. Maybe something like checking mount skills and only have the button available to those with the ability etc.

Issue 1 : If you get attacked while flying, it could cause you to plummet to your death ( fortunately when that happened to me it didn't ) Issue 2 : If I understand some of the you tube videos there is combat while in flight. Being dismounted by an addon is not a good idea. So, to ensure both those issues don't cause more problems, I will turn that feature off. At the same time, a sudden thought come to me, to allow a next random mount selection option. Just in case the same dragon is selected in a row. So, assuming it works. We could have left mouse button for mount/dismount with the auto random feature happening when you click to dismount ( I might try and trigger this when you get dismounted for some reason - outside of the combat reason ). It seems to have an issue with the initial anchoring I was doing in the code file. So, I have moved the initial anchoring to the xml file. It seemed to stop the error I was getting after the reload. Which, points at the list not being generated. The list gets generated at Player Login and when any new mounts are learned. It's possible that for some reason this fails and it thinks there are no mounts. But, I can't see why that would be. There are places where I can check and try creating the list again. Unless they changed when PLAYER_LOGIN triggers so it doesn't trigger during a reload, or they changed when the collection info is available, or they changed the values being checked for valid mounts. Although that last one would mean it happens all the time. As to moving from the special button to a Blizzard button. My details addon was stuck (not updating), so I did a /reload. After it reloaded, the image on the Xmount button was replaced with a horse. (EDIT: And since it wasn't showing an icon for one of my mounts, it was unusable in this state.) I tried reloading again as well as disabling the addon + re-enabling. Neither worked. But, I did fix it by completing exiting the game and re-opening it. The button was where I left it with the keybind intact. No worries if this isn't something that needs fixing. I have a workaround. Just wanted to report in case it helps. On a side note, is there a way to drag the button from the addon to the regular button bars? EDIT TO ADD: Just switched characters/servers for the first time and the issue occurred again. Exiting the game and reloading fixed it. Last edited by thepariah : 06-03-24 at 01:39 PM.

I'm glad you're liking it. Hopefully it's future proofed but we will have to wait and see.

They have said that many of the flying mounts will get access to this dynamic flight system, but I am not sure if there will be a new field for that to use or whether they will use the DragonFlying field being essentially the same thing. I'll have to revisit this when things change in this area to see how it is affected.
