    Gatherer is an addon for herbalists, miners and treasure hunters in World of Warcraft. It's main purpose is to track the closest plants, deposits and treasure locations on your minimap.

    The addon does not track like a tracking ability does, rather it "remembers" where you have found various items in the past. It does this whenever you gather (perform herbalism, mining or opening) on an item, and records the specific map location in its history. From then on, whenever the item comes into range of being one of the closest 1-25 (configurable) items to your present location, it will pop up on you minimap.

    When you view your World Map, you will also see the item locations marked on the particular map you are viewing there.

    INSTALLATION:
    --------------
    Extract the data to your "World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns" directory so that the "Gatherer" directory is a subdirectory of the "AddOns" directory.


    USAGE:
    --------------
    Just use the game as normal.
    When you gather things, they will appear on your minimap and your main map.
    If you want to configure the addon, click the Gatherer configuration icon floating around your minimap frame or type /gather options.

    Slash Commands
    /gather minimap (on|off|toggle) - controls the minimap tracking functionality
    /gather mainmap (on|off|toggle) - controls the world map tracking functionality
    /gather dist <n> - sets the minimap tracking distance to this number of units. (in game yards)
    /gather num <n> - sets the maximum number of items to display (default=20, up to 50)
    /gather herbs (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show herb data on the minimap")
    /gather ore (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show mining data on the minimap")
    /gather treasure (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show treasure data on the minimap")
    /gather options - show the configuration dialog

    RIP Gatherer
    It's owner abandoned it to fend for itself in the wilds. Being an indoor add-on, it couldn't fend for itself and it slowly died. May it find a better life in add-on heaven, where it can roam free and happy, and never bugs...

    Release-quality update on their site
    I went to the Norganna site to check up on this, and found that there's been a new release-quality update for Gatherer itself that hasn't been pushed to this or curse yet.

    I am getting an error / bug here at "Western Plaguelands".

    All Iron Ore spawns imported via the Gathere DB, are marked with Gold Ore icons in the hud and map until I mine them manually.

    Don't now if this is limited to the Plaguelands, to iron ore, or happens with other ores and areas as well.

    Update:

    So the error is not limited to the area or the ore.
    Had the same situation with Thorium and Rich Thorium in Winterspring.

    Still getting this error with the latest version for 5.2.

    And, the website to post bugs is down. After 4 years, I guess Gatherer is going into the trash...

    Addon requesting update, but I have the latest version?
    I am getting a window on my toons (as I log them each in, after teh 5.2 patch went live) saying that Gatherer can't identify some zones, and could I please update as soon as convenient.

    As far as I can tell, I have the latest version.

    Posted a slightly more detailed version of this comment on the Norganna Forums website.

    This error happens every time I loot a gathering node for the first time after logging to one of my toons. Once it happened it no longer happens on that char, but as soon as I relog it pops up again - whether it's the same toon or another one.
