British: I'm pretty sure you can setup WitchHunt to only show the things you want. The suppressions are there to allow you one more method of control, but in reality since WH is the one generating all the messages, it is what should be configured to only show what you want to see instead of trying to suppress it all after the fa...

Aestil: If you check the Patch & Add-on List above, I wrote a little hack MSBTCombatPotency that will inject the energy gain from combat potency into MSBT. Blizzard has not added the energy gain from this talent to the combat log yet, so the MSBTCombatPotency mod detects it using other means. That is why you couldn't find an...

Jamey, I just downloaded the mod to make sure and the API.html file is right in the root directory of the .zip file (not under the "MikScrollingBattleText" directory). That has a completely detailed reference for the public functions. To answer your question though, yes MikSBT.DisplayMessage changed slightly and you can output...

Ice: Blizzard changed the event for wand damage and I missed it when updating the mod for WoW 2.0 I'm going to upload 4.01 in a few minutes to fix that. Thanks for letting me know.

Horlin: You're correct about most of the fonts not supporting non-English characters. However, in version 4.0, which I will be releasing when the new patch goes live on Tuesday, I have replaced all of the fonts (except the "Adventure" font) with fonts that support non-English characters like ä, ö ü, é, á, and ç. Version 4.0 wi...

Mahkra: Yes I'm going to release MSBT v4.0 when the new patch is implemented (this Tuesday according to Blizzard). It will also work with TBC at that point.

Posted By: Mikord
Wammy: The suppression string must match what MSBT is displaying, not what the combat log says. I think it says (Bloodthrist - Your Name) +20? If that is the case then you could use this pattern to suppress it: %(Bloodthirst %- Your Name%) Aeolus: Sure, I thought I had put one up there, but I guess I missed it somehow.

Raven: CHAT_MSG_SPELL_SELF_BUFF and CHAT_MSG_SPELL_SELF_DAMAGE should be the events you need. Search Pattern 1: You gain %d extra attacks through Sword Specialization Verify that string against the combat log, but I believe that's what it says. It is case sensitive.

Trilca, I believe that totem buffs should be showing up the same as other buffs. Make sure you have the "Buffs" event enabled under the notifications tab. Edit: Ok after looking into it. Totem buffs don't get reported as normal buffs. I'll see about getting that functionality into the next version so it recognizes them.

Unfortunately it's not possible to turn off the game's XP display. Blizzard provides the option for game damage, but not the XP. You can disable MSBT's XP display under the Notifications tab though. Uncheck the Experience Gains event. I generally stay on the move when I kill things, so I rarely see the double message since th...

Theondry said it best. MSBT does things that SCT does not, and conversely SCT does things MSBT does not. I haven't used SCT in several versions, so I really can't give a point by point comparison. What I can say though is that while the principle is the same (parse combat messages and animate them on the screen), the two...

Sid, While I was answering your question, I discovered a bug where adding more than one suppression was not working properly. I updated the mod to version 3.01 to correct that. You probably want to grab it before you create the suppression. Check out the "How do I create a new suppression?" FAQ entry in the new version's read...

Hey folks, As you can see, I've released version 3.0. A quick note on the trigger system: I had to make a choice whether or not to make event types required for a trigger. If the event types were not required, it would easier to setup a trigger because you wouldn't need to know what events to specify, but it would also mean...

Thanks for the feedback speak. There was a post earlier in the thread where someone said that WitchHunt 2.0, a SpellAlert type of mod, has support for MSBT.

Posted By: Mikord
@Limarah: That's not a bad idea though I don't think it would work very well. The main problem I see with it is that you'd be reliant on receiving the combat events for others. That has a relatively short range, so if you are outside of that range you wouldn't get the messages and as such it wouldn't be very reliable. As you...

As I posted on the portal page (http://mikord.wowinterface.com), I will be releasing minor revision 2.11 with the updated toc for patch 1.12 later tonight. Elisha: Unfortunately there is no way to separate that out. The game damage would have to be on for the dots to show up above the mob's head. You can turn the game's damage back on with the option in the mod's interface, but then all damage will show up above the mob's head. If you don't want to see the DoT spam though, you c...

Ah ok I see what you mean. In that case, no you can't do that in this version. An incoming heal is an incoming heal whether it came from somebody else or you so you can change what it says for HoTs or regular heals, but not based on who it came from.

Umberto, Yes you can change that right in the interface. Just open the interface (/msbt), click on the Incoming tab and scroll down to HoTs (since it's incoming heals over time that you want to change). You will see the output text pattern next to it which is "(%s - %n) +%a" by default. Click on it and it will turn into an edi...

Mooshroom, If by customize the messages, you are referring to being able to change what they say, then you can do that directly in the interface by simply clicking on the "Output Message" text next to the event in question. It will turn into an editbox where you can make it say whatever you want. The tooltip will also change to...

@elmanthira and Sano: Currently, there isn't a way to do that. I plan to add something in the next version to allow for those types of things though. @BioTwister: I agree with you on that.
