New field in item links (Reforging)

There's a new field added to item links (after the level field). It's 0 on all my gear now. I'm guessing it has something to do with reforging (going to test that shortly).

Anyone else have ideas or info?

EDIT: I can confirm that reforging an item changes the new field. Changing hit rating to spirit, for example, will make the new field 134.

EDIT: These have changed, thank you Abysmall for pointing this out. The values in the table are correct for Beta ONLY. To get the live values, check Abysmall's table below, or subtract 56 from each value.

So after getting bored for half an hour today, I figured it out. I'll paste the info, the work on formatting it nicely with an edit. Again, this is the (new) final field in the item link, immediately following the player level.

Code:

TO        SPIRIT  DODGE  PARRY    HIT    CRIT  HASTE    EXP    MAST
FROM
SPIRIT        X    113    114    115    116    117    118    119
DODGE        120      X    121    122    123    124    125    126
PARRY        127    128      X    129    130    131    132    133
HIT          134    135    136      X    137    138    139    140
CRIT        141    142    143    144      X    145    146    147
HASTE        148    149    150    151    152      X    153    154
EXP          155    156    157    158    159    160      X    161
MAST        162    163    164    165    166    167    168      X

If that's not clear: when you use reforging to convert some of stat x (from the left column) to stat y (from the top row), the last field in your item link will change to the number in row x and and column y. Also, this editor could really use a table option.

Please let me know if I missed any stats, or goofed anywhere.

Nicely formatted. :)

Thank you! I still want tables though. :p

After more investigation, it seems that you can convert 40% of a stat (rounded down). It also appears that all the allowed stat conversions are 1 to 1 conversions.

However, the servers are going down for reboot, so confirmation will wait until after dinner.

This is awesomely useful information. You tested all 49 of them? Or just tested like half of them and filled in the rest?

What happens if you construct an itemlink outside that range 113-168? (I'll assume the link is invalid and unlinkable) How about an item that has no Hit, but you attach the 134 field?

I tested about half of them and figured out the pattern.

I haven't had time to test item links outside that range, since the servers went down for a reboot as soon as I figured out the 40% bit.

Also, what happens when you only reforge part of what you're allowed to, instead of going for the full 40%?

You can't. You pick which stat you lose 40% of and which stat you gain (though it can't be a stat that's already on the item), but you can't change the amount.

Item links that have a reforging field set to a value outside 113-168 appear to show up the same as item links without a reforging field, or with it set to 0.

Putting a valid reforging field that takes away a stat the item doesn't have will add a line to the tooltip that says "-0 <stat>", with <stat> being the new stat that reforging field would normally give. Your 134 example would show "-0 Spirit" on any item that didn't have hit.

I don't suppose there's a way for me to update the thread title? I tried changing the subject of the first post, but it doesn't seem to help.

EDIT: scratch that, it just took a while to show up.

Changed

Not sure if this post was done Pre_ 4.0.1 but, Table values have changed. I just did some testing, and i go the following values from the itemstring

Code:

From
SPIRIT        X        57        58        59        60        61        62        63
DODGE        64        X        65        66        67        68        69        70
PARRY        71        72        X        73        74        75        76        77
HIT        78        79        80        X        81        82        83        84

Yeah, I did mine pre-4.0.1 on the beta. Thanks for the update!

EDIT: Actually, looking at those, they might just be pre-Cata values for level something to 80. There'd be room for one more set before that, too. I'll look into it when I have some free time.

EDIT REDUX: So it appears that, for the same reforging, Live and Beta currently have different numbers. My list is for Beta, Abysmall's covers live after 4.0.1.
