Raid leader mode

Its handy that the UI will adjust from solo-40 man raiding.

Can I suggest a manual selection for us Raid Leaders...called "RL Mode".

Tanks health bars display % heals / total DPS. So a display of 75/100K tells me they are taking 100K dps and 75% of that is being healed. If I can watch that ratio at key moments in the event to learn how to adjust or adjust as needed at that time.

Threat % on all players with a Hold on death. Yeah its a tattle-tail display. I want to know if a players ego overrode their logic. Seeing a 100% over a dead players health bar means i need to have a chat with that Mage..I mean player.

Raid wide mana bar displaying the total mana pool of the raid. The RL should be able to exclude any players mana pool from this. Healer wide Mana Bar with regen %. Basically the same thing but selecting Raid healers mana pool into one bar. Knowing when to slow down and when you can safety speed up the tanks really helps a raid. It helps a RL adjust the flow and possibly bypass mobs and unnecessary breaks.

Tank's Target with Health bar displaying Overall DPS receiving. This helps identify low dps allowing a RL to adjust dps on multiple Boss events. It also helps identify a split DPS situation.

Raid wide DPS output bar. Seeing a Mobs health bar with 100K dps on it and a Raid Wide DPS output is 120K...I know someone isnt targeting what they should. That 100K dps is the amount of damage that Mob is taking from the Raid.

Total DPS on a Mob displayed on my target bars and total HPS on a friendly target on my target bars. This way I don't have to look down at the player displays to do a quick HPS/DPS check on single target events. My target is the Boss, he is getting slammed for 250K dps, his target is my MT who is receiving 150K HPS and the tanks health bar is solid...life is good :D

As a RL, I love how clean NUI is. Its just a couple informational displays would make my life easier.

Thank You

Thank you for this post... it really is packed with good ideas. I've printed it off so I don't "lose" it in the pile of posts that occur on these forums and I will see how much of this I can implement.

The one bugaboo at present is that nUI does not have its own DPS meters which means the tracking of DPS and HPS is not possible at this time. The rest is all doable, however, and to be perfectly the ideas you present here are clear enough, and compelling enough, to make the idea of doing DPS/HPS tracking internally a worthwhile consideration.

So, again... thank you for some excellent input.

Programs like "Recount" are small enough to keep running along side. Its information is basically an investigative tool. I don't think NUI would need that. Simple algorithms displaying how quickly health is rising and falling is all thats needed.

I am sure you are well past me on this...LOL

True... but to be able to do the display information, you have to have the data, which means you have to do the work of a damage meter to collect it in the first place... or try to scrape the data off of another program (such as Skada or Recount)

If you try to scrape it off the other apps, then you have to make your code much more complex and you are at the mercy of the "other" programmers... if they change their mod, they break your mod without warning.

So... in order to present much of the data you're requesting, you first have to collect the damage and heal data in which case you're already doing pretty much all of the work of a Recount/Skada type app.

It is possible to use algorithms as you mention, but they're actually unreliable for a host of reasons... which is why damage meters don't do that either. It also would be impossible to, for example, tell the difference between the heals the tank is receiving versus the damage he is taking... all you have is his current health with no differentiation between how much of that is the result of damage and healing.
