I have an enhancement suggestion for InFlight. Instead of people posting updates gathered from their personal travels which then get merged into a new version of InFlight, I suggest that InFlight make use of the ability of addons to communicate in game.

When a new path is discovered, InFlight should broadcast that information to its addon channel. InFlight also listens to this channel and if it sees information it doesn't have, it adds that information to its own database.

While it might be a bit "noisy" at the beginning, I don't expect the addon channel traffic to be high over the long term.

Okay, I was not expecting this. Since I patched to version 7.3.001 none of my flights have time. No built in data nor the flights I'm adding/taking since the patch.

There simply is no existing data and InFlight isn't reading from the saved variables.

Edit: there are some flights InFlight still knows about, but I am shocked how many it forgot in the last build.

I'm seeing the same thing. Any idea what is happening?

I keep scanning InFlight's comments on the main project page, but thus far no updates. I can't even be confident in saying that it is memorizing the flights it previously forgot. What I mean for example is if in the latest update InFlight forgot the time between Dalaran and Meridril. If it did forget that time, and we take the flight and relearn the timing, does it keep the timing for forget each time we log in?

Definitely need more data to give to the author (who is not me, I just made a forum post).

Not sure how you you would procure the needed data, but I do know that there are at least two flight points off the top of my head I know it's not saving and reloading at a different point.
- Dalaran to Valdihal (sp?) in Stormheim. Had to take each of my characters there the other day for a stormray turn in WQ. Each time I left Dal the timer had 0.00. Took about 2min. Turn in, log out, switch characters, start the trek on another character still 0.00. Happened for 6 characters.
- Dal to the Broken shore HQ FP and then also reverse (BS FP to Dal). Same as above. Looks like it records a new time but next character has no saved time when the flight starts either way.

There have probably been a few more. I'll try to remember to keep an eye out when I'm logged in from here on out.

Okay, I mentioned more data. Here's what I've learned: since the last update, InFlight no longer saves flight times between game sessions and that any flight times hard-coded into the previous build (one step older than the current release) are the only flight times that InFlight knows and keeps between sessions.

In other words:

• No new data was hard-coded into InFlight in the latest build.
• Latest build does not keep flight times between sessions.
• Any data learned in a game session will be lost when you exit the game.

So the addon needs to be updated. Is the original author no longer doing this? Probably a dumb question, sorry. But I don't see why someone hasn't resurrected this great addon. I would do it myself but I've got zero experience in coding such a thing and don't have the time to learn. I'm only able to play WoW maybe 3 hours per day.
