BlizzCon '09 UI Community Dinner
 

With BlizzCon tickets all done (hence people pretty much knowing for sure if they are going to be attending BC) and with me home from my vacation and finally getting my feet back under me:


I am looking into restaurants now and (obviously) having an estimate on the number of people interested in joining us would be helpful. The number of us going to it have been growing every year. The first year (05) we had about 10. The second year (07) we had around 24. Last year (08) we had around 40 people! So obviously, people are having a good time snarfing down food and hanging out with other UI geeks talking code over food since they keep coming to it every year and bringing more along with them.

So, if you know you are going to BlizzCon and are pretty sure you want to hang out over supper one evening, please post here.

And only to LA international airport. Still about 40 miles NW of the convention centre by Car if I'm reading Google Maps right.

Plenty of us flew in/out of LAX last year. There are plenty of shuttles to take you to/from the hotels in Anaheim.

Well I had another go in my Coming To America quest.

Then I found out all the Blizzcon tickets R sold out :(

So instead here is a list of things that *must* happen at the dinner

* There has to be plenty of photos taken , especially embarrassing ones

* Someone has to bring a life sized cardboard cutout of a Female Dranei Mage and a sign on it that reads "Bluspacecow"

* Dolby has to get Caireen Drunk.

* speil2000 / scott has to have the First Beer (capitals for emphasis)

* There has to be various bits of random fun with my cardboard cutout including but not limited to : defacement , kid napping and possible other stuff I've leave to your imagination.

Any idea what night you're aiming for? If it's Friday, I may have two friends in tow that would be interested in joining the fray.

Trying for the Thursday night this year instead. That way no one has to miss the contests on the Friday night (when we've had it previous years).

Ah, doh...already have plans for a good steak dinner with friends on Thursday, but I'm sure I'll run into a few of you all on the other days (I'm usually orbiting a bar) :p

This may put me in a difficult positioning scheduling wise but we'll see.

I heard the Blizzard Flight Path designers were routing flights to Blizzcon via layovers on the next continent. It's kind of like flying from Houston to Dallas with a layover in Los Angeles. In addition, all normal passengers will arrive approximately 20% slower than their paladin friends. As a result, the entire first day will be a prayer session and spiritual attunement.

Rosie-cat waves her paw to say hello, she's the new addition to the household and now a large part of why I can't attend, even if there were other reasons before too... Gosh it's been One of Those Years.
