- Yes, it does require WotLK
- Character copying works fine, I just copied 3 characters to Mekkatorque (EU), and the transfer is reported as successfull.

Managed to download the downloader. Now I'm getting this.

EDIT: Found out they are doing authentication maintenance: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...19535&sid=2000. So that prevents me from getting the client or is there another problem?

Holy torpedo.... I've never seen these many new addons ever! In all my years of being in WOWInterface.com. The frontpage addon listing is actually scrolling faster then new addons are uploaded lol.

I seriously think the rules and or the description of the beta giveaways should be updated to reflect these considerations.

Yeah they've been having some issues Mrruben. I'm sure things will be worked out. I suggest giving it a try in a few hours.

They are probably the same person. I see it all the time on other forums. People ask a stupid question and don't get an answer, so they register another account and ask the same question hoping to get noticed. (See, if they would ask the same question twice on the same account, *that* would be rude :rolleyes: (and often against forum policies))

That is what I would have done. (But then again, I am not as awsome as the WoWI staff :D)

Managed to get it running, dumped the downloader in a folder on my desktop.

Yea, there did seem to be some sort of problem just now. I've been downloading the Beta client patches for a few hours now, but the downloader has been crashing every now and than in the last hour.

In fact, now that I look at it, neither the Blizzard HTTP peer, nor the tracker itself, is responding. The downloader is running on just P2P at the moment. Seems the servers are down. :(

We will try to get as many keys as needed. :) Some of these addons are ones that were previously uploaded only to Curse. Others were people's private stash of addons (I know of plenty of people that write good addons but never shared them). Many of the new addons look great - I am going to be spending FOREVER wading through things next Sunday for the Pick of the Week! :p :eek: This is a GREAT thing!

And, as mentioned, we are going through uploads with a fine-tooth comb. If a user uploads something that isn't theirs, they get a ban. Period. If something looks -really- simple (like it was just someone's SetCVar() macro), it gets turned away (or they at least won't be eligible for a key with it).

I love having new addons :) Some people have good ideas. However, some of them are just soooo simple that you have to question why they uploaded it. :D Seerah you better drink lots of coffee if your going to review that many addons LOL.
