Battle net Id
 

Any info on why when a battle net id friend sends me a message it comes up Unknown? Also when they log on it also says unknown.

I am having this issue as well. Any idea on what is causing it and/or when a fix will be implemented?

I think this is actually PhanxChat, since RealUI itself doesn't actually do anything with names. PhanxChat has a feature that replaces a RealID friends' real name with their battletag.

Try looking in the PhanxChat options and disabled that.

I disabled PhanxChat and it still does it

i had the same issue and fixed it by:
going into interface options -> addons -> phanxchat
and changing the "shorten real names" option to "keep full name"
