Hovering name font

Helloes there again,

Im looking for an addon that changes the font of the hovering names over players and bosses. Just the text, Im not using bars for this. Currently I have fontain. But it seems to be unable to change the font of the names. Or am I missing something?

Any help would be appreciated!

You need to replace the fonts in the fonts directory with one you like, as AddOns can not touch those names in the 3d world. After that you could use Fontain to control back the fonts you are using in your UI.

Just a downside on this though. I never found the font directory, neither for fontain or the game itself. Where-abouts can I find it? : )

If you don't have one in the WoW folder, create one (it'd be in the same level as the interface folder). Any font you put in there, as long as it has the same filename as the default fonts, will replace that font in-game.

tekticles does this I am pretty sure? If not, then yeah what the other people have said!

Here you go:
Quote:

This will override all the remaining WoW fonts - including the login screens!
Create the following folder:

<WoW directory>\Fonts\

Create four copies of the font file of your choice, place them in the above folder, and rename them to the following names:

FRIZQT__.ttf (the main UI font)
ARIALN.ttf (the normal number font)
skurri.ttf (the 'huge' number font)
MORPHEUS.ttf (Mail, Quest Log font)

Ok, so I tried creating a fonts folder and filling in exactly what mrruben said. Aaaand, no effect. Tried tekticles, nothing either. Fontain is also still failing. Im starting to think my WoW folder refuses to take on a font. Does anyone know why, a solution or any other idea? Anything is very welcome!

I had the same issue when i did it as listed above. What ended up working for me was to set the names as follows:

Quote:

FRIZQT__
ARIALN
skurri
MORPHEUS
Note the .ttf portion removed from the name. This solved the issue for me.

It depends on your file system settings. If you have extensions turned off for known file types then obviously you don't have to type .ttf for each font. I have extensions on for every file.

Same here but i didn't realize it a made a difference at the time so i had simply followed the instructions when i first came across this method. When i figured out why it wasn't working this was the solution. So i figured id pass it along. :D
