I have live, PTR and Beta installed. Judging by the addon list, Minion detected live and PTR but there is no way of telling which is which, popup just says "World of Warcraft" for both. Edit: Just found the game path under options.

For one, Minion detected 8 of 83 installed addons while for the other it found 36 (but only 7 of the 8). Admittedly not all are on WoWI but they are the same addons on both installs although some on the PTR will be older.

Can I ask what is used to detect the version number in the installed addon? For the 1 FauxMazzle addon detected the version minion displayed is 5.4.0 although the TOC lists ## Version: 1.0.1 and the only entry remotely associated with 5.4.0 is the ## Interface: 50400.

Does the list automatically update for new/removed addons each time it loads? If not is the there a refresh mechanism?

Edit: Meant to add, It's looking good, nice work.

We have a story in our backlog that will add a feature to be able to rename games. Yeah the options window as you found will at least list the detected path.

Would you be willing to email me your addons ([email protected]) so we can take a look for our selfs? I can understand if you rather not. If you haven't restarted Minion yet can you share your minion0.log (C:\Users\<your username>\.minion\minion0.log) it should have a log of how it detected all your AddOns (file gets over-written on each start).

It tries to match it to a version in our database. We may need to change this and have it display the number it gets directly from the toc.

Minion will do a sanity check on each startup to check for missing/new addons, so if you manually remove an addon vs using the in menu right click "uninstall" option it won't show until you restart at the moment.

The AddOn data from our API that Minion uses is refreshed automatically so new Addons and Updates will be shown with out having to restart Minion.

Do you want the actual addons or just the list? Sadly I can only get ADSL1 in the backwater where I live and large uploads tend to fail a lot .

I'm happy to try if you want the lot.

Edit: I've re-started minion several times but I can uninstall, cleanup and do over if you need the initial pass log.

The initial pass log should give me similar information if your addon folders are too big to transfer.

Thanks for your help :)

Just installing again and I think something has gone terribly wrong.

From the displayed list.

It has been sitting here for 9+ minutes. I've emailed the minion log with the nullpointer exception. Will try again.

Edit: It looks like install 3 is going the same way as install 2. All three install updated to a newer version (I DL'd the install again for attempt 3) so I don't know if the updated version for 1 was the same as for 2 and 3. But it looks like minion is dead for me atm.

I think my email server or client cut off the end of the log. Can you attach the .log file with the nullpointer instead of copy & paste?

Also would like to see your minion.xml too. You can also try deleteing your minion.xml to get Minion to re-start detection. Its in the same place you find the log.

Sent,

As an aside, during the install, I wasn't given an option to add minion to the desktop and by default it's not added to the start page but the apps page under ZAM Network LLC, way, way, way down the end of the apps list.

I'll try deleting the xml file.

Got your log this time and looking it over.

Moving this discussion into its own thread.

Thanks for your help so far :)

Deleted the xml file and re-started to a succesful detection process (although I did get a dialog that told me I already had addons installed and would I like to back them up... I did.). Still two different lists.

Log and xml file sent.

Dolby 07-21-14 04:21 PM

Thanks, I'm still going over the one with nullpointer exceptions.

I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about here. Sorry.

Fizzlemizz 07-21-14 04:33 PM

When I select live, Minion lists:
Quote:

Align
Auctionlite
Bugsack
EasyMail
FauxMazzle
LightHeaded
RareAlert and RaresTip
as installed addons.

When I select the PTR it lists:

Quote:

Align
Aloft
AuctionLite
Autobar
Bugsack
Capping
Chinchilla
DART
DUF
Dominos
EasyMail
Examiner
Gatherer
GatherSage
GTFO
LightHeaded
Mapster
Masque
Masque sleek
Molinari
Move Anything
Omen
OmniCC
Prat
Quartz
RareAlert
RaresTip
RatingBuster
SmartBuff
TinyPad
TomTom
TrinketMenu
Xcalc
Xloot
As the installed addons.

I sent an email with the lists of all the addons installed in each version.

Fizzlemizz 07-21-14 08:41 PM

After restarting the Minion I think 3 more times over the course of the day, the two lists now seem to be synchronised.

The only addons left not found are addons not on WoWI of course, ones listed as outdated which is good.

Edit: Just a matter of wether the incomplete initial detection inconsistancies is universal. Just for completeness I did do another un-install, cleanup, re-install and the correct list for both versions of WoW was picked up first time.
