As you pay a monthly fee for wow I'm quite sure that you also have to pay on a monthly basis for the addons, because otherwise it would not be possible for the authors to provide updates and support...

They already can read the code that you produce as you can get the input which is sent to the load functions.

So the point about readable code is mainly there because of laziness.

It is extreme to see how people value the work of authors. You get the feeling that they think that addon authors are somehow like monkeys who can be replaced and no one recognizes the difference.
