I think there is a known problem with memory issue since the new patch. As to the nUI increase that is due to growing memory use but then it gets released every so often so if you keep watching it, it will drop down lower.
The changes coming in nUI6 will include a better management of the data and the memory it uses and so far it seems to be working alot better.
