This may come as a bit of a surprise for you, but the reason you can't claim the beta key is because we invited you to the beta last Thursday. If you log into the Blizzard Desktop App and press the drop-down menu above the PLAY button, You should find an "In Development" section at the top and "Beta: Battle for Azeroth" listed.

Hmm have to check this when I get home as I did not get an email abut getting into beta (but got all the support ticket update emails). And it does not show in the wow accounts list on my account page.
