I'd desaturate the whole game a bit if I could. I know that it's a Warcraft thing that everything "goes to 11", but I've never liked it. Too much just makes everything feel like less. If it's always maxed out, nothing will ever stand out!

If you're serious about desaturating the entire game, you can go into the
Accessibility tab in the interface options and go through the colorblind filters to see if one of them does what you want.
Changing the "daltonize" cvar from 1 to 0 modifies the filter behavior, as well.
