HandyNotes was last updated in Nov 2014 over on Curse. You may want to try that version. I do not know if it will show on Carbs map though.

Just saw that there was an actual plugin for HandyNotes (
http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/handy-notes_carbonite )that was supposed to allow it to show on Carbonites Map. Not sure if that's needed anymore. It may just be a matter of the HandyNotes author adding in support for it. It may be an easier task now than it was in the past to do that.
