That's probably because you both are using the "release" version of Carbonite..
No one is working on the release version, BUT it's been fixed in the beta/alpha/Carbonite II
To get it (and to get everything working again) go to the link below:

Right click Carbonite in Curse Client and select "Alpha" from the "preferred release types" sub menu
